The Cold War

The dark sky gave way to the light of the moon that showed light to the beautiful garden of the Forgotten palace, The green flowers, the red roses, dandelion flowers the small water fountain right at the middle of the garden.

Morpheus walked quietly with his hands in his pockets along the pavement of the guarden and stopped a few meters away from the fountain and stared at the water pouring out of it and onto the little pond there, he shut his eyes to listen to the water and all that was around him.

"I never wanted this" He whispered. "I didnt choose this life...why won't you understand" He said opening his eyes.

"Of course you didn't choose this, nobody chose this not even me but here we are anyway" Lycus spoke appearing behind Morpheus a few Meters away from him. "Your sense of hearing is sharp kiddo" he chuckled.

"I guess it is, should I also guess why you are here?" Morpheus asked turning around to face lycus who was taller than him, there was a gap between the two of them.

Morpheus was calm quiet and almost as if he was lifeless when he stood still like a statue. Lycus was full of games and like toying around before getting to the point that way he could get the weak spot.

"I think you already know by know" Lycus smiled and shifted his attention to the surroundings, he didnt fear Morpheus or frightened by him, lycus was carefree and he let himself be at home.

He slowly picked up the red rose that was near him and broke the little branch and peeled off the thorns until only the red flower was in his palm. Morpheus stood there quietly staring at him.

"You know, you're just as bad as all of us the difference is that one day you will die...again" Lycus smiled and looked at Morpheus.

"I doubt anything you said is valid" Morpheus replied and clenched his fists without showing anger in his face.

"Your ability to stay calm even when you're angry is impressive, honestly you amaze me kid" Lycus said before crushing the little rose in his palm and letting the pedals float away. "I'm here to pick you up by the way"

Before lycus could turn in his fast pace to grab Morpheus he wasn't there, he turned around to find Morpheus behind him, The young vampire punched Lycus on the chest sending him flying until he hit the little water fountain and broke it.

Lycus stood up slowly soaking wet and looked at the spot Morpheus punched and smiled. "You're strong kid I'll give you that"

Lycus jumped and landed in front of Morpheus and attempted to punch him but he h

blocked his punch with his hand, Lycus angrily grabbed Morpheus by his jacket and tossed him through the glass pot plants until he hit a tree, within seconds Lycus was near him and picked him up, Morpheus looked back at him quietly.

"The sooner you stop wasting time the better kid" Lycus laughed.

Before Lycus could realize Morpheus swung his leg up kicking Lycus below the chin and fell a few meters away and landed on the pot plants...Morpheus reached Lycus and before he could stand up he pinned him back by the neck holding on his neck tightly and started squeezing Lycus's neck until it started showing icy cracks on all sided.

"You may have been around before but now you have to learn to stay in your lane" Morpheus whispered.

Lycus struggled to break free from his grip and finally he punched Morpheus making him lossen his grip and before Morpheus could counter attack, Lycus placed his hand on Morpheus's mouth and covered both his nose and mouth and released a toxin that sent Morpheus unconscious and fell back on the ground.

"You're right, I've been around and I know how to finish the job" Lycus chuckled and picked Morpheus up and threw him on his shoulder and disappeared.

The horses marched through the tall forest of Corbin, a whole army in silver and blue armors and shields, archers and swords. The army of Tolido was know to be undefeated due to their power in numbers and weaponry and their well trained knights were undefeated.

The scroll was stolen from them and with the law of the scroll stating that all alliances shall be broken if the scroll is stolen by any of the close alliances, King Corbin understood why this was happening and there would be no need for them to explain why they stole it, the scroll itself brought chaos in the lands as the stories would tell and now they were about to be part of the war coming their way.

The black fog covering Corbin castle made it impossible to see the other side but they were certain, Tolido was on their way and fast.

The blue black clouds covering the sky caused the temperature to drop max to the point were it started to be freezing cold and snowing at the same time.

Lucas, Kristen, Skyler and the king were all gathered in the library to hear each others options on how to go about the war.

"Can't we at least talk to them about this? I'm pretty sure they are aware of the vampires that are loose right?" Skyler commented standing up from the chair he was seated on.

"That won't be possible, its the law that let's them do this, Charon and I are allies but the scroll is able to break that in one snap" The king spoke folding his arms close to his chest.

"We can always promise to bring it back you know" Kristen said shrugging.

"Are you crazy? What type of offering is that?" Evans snapped.

"We'll hold them off while you head to Nanoah, that is the only way" Corbin replied with a sigh. "Even though they are much stronger than us but we will manage"

"Thank you for helping us my lord, we are forever at your dept" Skyler said bowing.

The three packed their belongings which was basically nothing since they had nothing and exited the castle past the secret chamber that led to the back of the castle. There were three horses waiting for them when they got there and one guard was with them and as soon as they got there they rode away and with their horses riding away from the castle's fog, the dark fog surrounding the castle disappeared and in seconds it followed the three horses like a wave of tsunami behind them.

"Any idea what might happen if the fog reaches us?!" Skyler asked his horse closely beside Evans as they hurried between the large mountains surrounding them.

"Since when am I the librarian? I don't know and I don't want to find out!" Evans replied in annoyance.

The view was clearer now that the fog was out of the way but it was still dark but King Corbin's soldiers could see Tolido's army approaching.

"Tonight we shall fight against our once was allies, remember that it is not by their own will that this is happening!" Corning shouted words of encouragement as he walked side to side his soliders stood quietly listening to him. "But, Remember that it also not your fault! They might be stronger in numbers but we have heart! We are stronger too now show no mercy!" She shouted louder on his last sentence and the army cheered and there the archers were ready and so were Tolido's army.

The arrows crossed one another to reach their destination and both sides raised their shields to block the falling arrows, some from both sides were to late and got hit by the arrows and died, it went like that when slowly Tolido's army reached the tall concrete walls of Tolido and and placed their wooded ladders and started climbing, Corbin's archers started shooting at them.

By that time at night it was showing at its peak, Most of Tolido's soldiers were already in the castle and swords collided, bodies fell and blood poured but King Charon was not with the army and King Corbin was assisting his soldiers in the fight.

Suddenly there were screams outside the castle walls, It took everyone a while to realize Tolido's army was under attack and of course they thought Corbin set them up but Corbin himself was shocked but a few of the soldiers of Tolido ran inside screaming.

"Vampires!!!"

"Vampires?" King Corbin gasped.

Immediately the soldiers pulled the king back to the palace, indeed it was vampires and they sprung out of the forest in groups like a rat infestation and they were faster than anything they had ever seen, The Corbin soldiers started reinforcing the Large gates, others who were outside tried to climb the ladders only to be pulled back down and ripped apart.

"You cannot let them die! we are allies" One of Tolido's soliders who was inside the walls shouted at one of Corbin's men Alex.

"Allies? You attacked us and you call us allies? shut it and help us push them back!" The solider replied angrily.

The dead bodies stained the white snow red, Tolido's siders tried to fight them but they just assembled back together like they never dealt harm.

"Archers! Light the arrows with fire and burn them, that is the only way" Alex shouted.

The archers did as they were asked and lit the arrows with fire and shot them at the vampires and they burned instantly to ashes, they started piling up at the gates throwing themselves like balls at the large wooden gate it was as if someone was throwing them the way they tossed themselves at the gate trying to bring it down.

"If they get in here, it will be the end of us..."
