Forgotten Memories

The continuing silence made Luliyah eyes feel even heavier. Her eyelids kept dropping even though she tried hard to stay up. The big fight with her father and Natali made her so tired. Plus, Kelvin's anger left her feeling terrified the whole time.

It felt like all her strength was completely exhausted. In the end, she gave up on the drowsiness and fell asleep...

She fell asleep like a child, that she did not even realize the situation around her. Her head fell to the right and left, before finally landing onto Kelvin's shoulder. Kelvin could feel something touching his shoulder, so he opened his eyes. When he turned his head, Kelvin saw the woman beside him was fast asleep leaning on his shoulder.

He took a deep breath when he saw her.

He was angry with Luliyah, but she fell asleep.

However, when he saw Luliyah's exhausted face, his heart melted. He knew that Luliyah had a very long day. He could imagine how disappointed Luliyah was when she realized her father's indifference towards her. He could also imagine how Luliyah must have felt being humiliated and embarrassed in public.

Kelvin let Luliyah's head rest on his shoulder. He did not wake her up, and allowed her to sleep comfortably on his shoulder.

When the car passed a speed bump, Luliyah gasped a little, after which she fell back asleep still on Kelvin shoulder. Meanwhile, Kelvin kept on protecting her head from falling off his shoulder.

"Sir Agi, just drive slowly." Kelvin said quietly, trying not to wake Luliyah.

Hearing his master's order, Agi felt a little confused. Kelvin never told him to slow down the vehicle. Kelvin had a very busy schedule so he had to get to place as fast as possible. His master also didn't want to spend time in the middle of the road and wanted to get home quickly as possible. This was the first command Agi has heard ever since he worked for Kelvin.

However, after glancing at the rear-view mirror of the car, Agi realized why Kelvin ordered him. He could see Luliyah sleeping soundly, while Kelvin held her body close to his with his eyes closed, resting from the excessive sunlight.

Apparently, the master wanted his wife to sleep peacefully and comfortably. He didn't want Agi to drive too fast and make Luliyah wake up if there was a bump or anything that would interrupt her sleep.

"Yes sir." Agi said, trying to hide his smile.

Harris also glanced at the back seat to see the condition. After he confirmed that his master's wife was asleep, he said to Kelvin, "Sir, I have the information you wanted."

Kelvin opened his eyes when he heard what Harris said. He knew that the information Harris wanted to convey must be about Luliyah. His assistant was waiting for the right time to tell him. He could not say anything about it in front of Luliyah.

"Madame had an accident on Valentines day. The accident caused her to be seriously injured and she had to be hospitalized. She was in coma for one week." Harris said in a low voice. He also tried to lower his voice so that Luliyah won't wake up from her sleep.

"Coma? For a week?" Kelvin looked at Harris, then turned his head to see the woman leaning on his shoulder. He saw the woman's mouth slightly open while she was fast asleep. Her hair continued to fall and slid into her face. Kelvin reached out his and to tidy her hair, tucking them gently at the back of her ear. His movement did not wake Luliyah at all.

'It seems, Luliyah is really exhausted...' Kelvin thought within himself.

Kelvin never thought that the woman who leaned on his shoulder had been in a coma for one week. Did Luliyah forget about him after she woke up from the coma?

"The doctor who treated her said that after waking up from the coma, she couldn't remember what happened or how she injured. She could only remember that she was picking flowers that day. That's the last memory she had." Harris continues, "She can't remember what happened when she disappeared, until she woke up."

Harris reported it while watching Kelvin's reaction closely. As usual, Kelvin's face remained calm and unreadable that Harris couldn't tell what he was thinking. But, Harris was an intuitive person and had extraordinary sensitivity.

"Sir, the accident happened to Mrs Luliyah the same time you were injured..."

Harris grew up with Kelvin since he was a child. He always accompanied Kelvin so that he could become his trusted assistant. Even after becoming his assistant, Harris was never far from Kelvin. But strangely, Harris didn't know Luliyah at all. He never saw Luliyah with Kelvin.

But his master acted as if he knew Luliyah.

If they both knew each other, how could Harris not know Luliyah.

"Did the doctor tell her why she lost her memory?" Kelvin asked.

Finally, he found out why Luliyah didn't remember him. The woman was not pretending, nor did she forget him on purpose. It turned out that Luliyah was once injured, causing her loss of memory.

"The doctor said it was possible that at that time Madame might have experienced something so bad and painful that she could not endure the pain, that after everything Madame lost some of her memory. Or rather, her brain erased those memories." Harris explained.

"Is there a way to recover her memory?" Kelvin asked in a low voice.

"She could remember it anytime, but there is also the possibility that her memory will never come back. The doctor said that hypnosis therapy could also be done to force back the memory. Do I need to find a therapist?"

Kelvin thought for a moment, then shook his head. "If the memory is so bad that she wants to forget it, just let it be forgotten. We can start over from scratch..." Kelvin replied softly as he looked at Luliyah who was still sleeping beside him.

Every now and then, in her sleep Luliyah looked uncomfortable as if she was having terrible dreams. But whenever Kelvin's hand went up to gently stroke her or just tap on her head slowly, she would calm down again.

"Sir, Mrs Luliyah with you when you were injured, right?" Harris intuition said that. From earlier, he felt the question linger in his heart so he dared to ask.

Kelvin shut his mouth tightly. He did not answer Harris's question. He only let out a long sigh.
