2. Guest Of Honor

"Don't worry about your stuff I'll put it in your locker, just go!" Jane said and I quickly hugged her before running out, and in my sprint to the front gates, I bumped into Matt.

"Careful there beautiful." He said as he steadied me.

"Sorry Matt, got to go but I'll see you later!" I shouted at him while running away and he gave me a thumbs up with a very confused face.

I ran to the front gate and saw two sleek black cars pulling up and Mr. Brown standing there waiting for them.

I put a hand on my chest to calm down my breathing as the doors were opened by heavily armored men. I walked over to them slowly and noticed the three people getting out that looked like literal celebrities.

Calming my rapid beating heart, I made my way over to them and smiled politely.

"Ah, there she is." Mr. Brown said clapping my back while I stretched out my hand to the man and woman who stood together, and assumed it was the couple.

"Lovely to meet you Mr. and Mrs. Angelo, I'm Heather Elias. We talked on the phone earlier." I said stretching out my hand to Gabriel, I assumed, took it and gave me a polite smile.

"Glad to meet you." He said and the woman took my hand next.

"Hi, you have a lovely name. And you're so beautiful too!" She exclaimed and I blushed lightly.

"Thank you Mrs. Angelo. You look lovely too." I said politely and she laughed.

"Oh please, call me Maria." She said and I gave her a smile before turning to the third person.

Well she's nice.

"Lorenzo Salvatore." He said stretching is hand out and I took it while giving him a polite smile. He had dark brown hair and hazel eyes, a nice smile and a very sharp jawline with a light stubble.

He was wearing a navy blue suit with a white shirt underneath and the first two buttons of his shirt were open.

Boy he was hot.

"Heather Elias. Pleasure to meet you Mr. Salvatore." I said and he shook his head.

"Please, call me Enzo. I feel like an old man when you call me that." He says and I laugh a bit while he winks at me.

Oh god.

"Alright, Enzo. If you'll follow me this way." I said but then remembered and turned back around again.

"Um.. Is Mr. Angelo joining you shortly? He has to give the speech in a while." I asked Enzo who frowned.

"He isn't here yet? Wait, I'll call him." He said and made a few phone calls while we waited patiently and Mr. Brown talked to Gabriel.

"He's on his way and will be here shortly." Enzo said ad I nodded, leading the three towards the college fair.

I was sure I saw their impressed faces at the sight of the fair, because I too gawked at the sight in front of me. Everything had come out amazing and it was absolutely perfect.

Looks like it all payed off.

"Wow, this is amazing. Who arranged all this?" Gabriel said as he looked around the stalls.

"Heather did, she organized the whole thing." Mr. Brown said proudly and I smiled.

"It wasn't just me, I had a lot of help too. I was just leading them." I shrugged.

"But you did lead, didn't you? You planned all this and lead everyone. That isn't an easy task either." Maria said and I gave her a grateful smile.

"Thank you so much. I'm sure the other organizers would be thrilled to hear your opinions." I said as we walked up further into the crowd of people looking around stalls and chatting around smiling happily, when Matt came running over to me.

He was now dressed in a white button down and black pants with his dark brown hair combed neatly and his brown eyes shining in the sunlight. I daresay he looked handsome.

Not that I thought of him that way. Maybe I did... Did I?

"Thea is the guest speaker here yet?" He asked me and I looked at the guests behind me before shaking my head.

"No, they said he was on his way. I everything alright?" I asked him and he sighed.

"Yes, but he better hurry because we can't be late." He said and I nodded in understanding.

"Okay well don't worry, I'll ask his friend. He's a guest too." I said gesturing to Enzo and Matt looked over at them before nodding.

"Alright then, good luck. Heard they were a tough crowd." He said before walking away.

Tough crowd?

As expected, where ever they went a path was cleared for them automatically and I saw the girls staring at Enzo and Gabriel. I mean sure they were hot but like, Gabriel was a married man, jeez.

I took a deep breath before walking over to Enzo.

"Hi, I'm sorry for bothering you again but is Mr. Angelo near? I'm afraid we're running late." I said sheepishly.

"It's alright. I called him again and he said he's stuck in traffic but he should be here in a few minutes since he's not far." He said and I thanked him before pulling out my phone and texting Matt about the situation and he responded with thumbs up.

Just then Jane came walking up to me and smiling widely.

"What's got you all smiley?" I asked her raising my eyebrows but she shook her head.

"Nothing, I'm just so happy everything's going so perfect and looks absolutely amazing!" She gushed and hugged me before looking at the guests.

"Is that them?" She asked quietly and I nodded, pulling her away..

"Wow, that guys hot." She said looking at Enzo who was talking on the phone now.

"Yeah he's Enzo." I said and she smiled.

"First name basis huh?" She said wiggling her eyebrows but I laughed at her.

"Oh come on Jane, not like that." I said but she just shrugged.

"What? He's hot. I'd totally do him. Wouldn't you?" She said and I sighed.

"Why are you here?" I asked her tired and she straightened up.

"Right. I heard from Matt that Roman Angelo's running late, yes?" She asked me and I gave her a frim nod.

"Affirmative." I replied and she rolled her eyes before smiling.

"Anyways, you should have seen Olivia. If you thought her outfits were slutty before, she's practically naked right now and threw a mini tantrum when she heard Roman Angelo was running late. I mean, you should have seen her bitchy face, not that you can actually see it with all that makeup on, but you get my point." She said and I started laughing at her.

"Wow. I wish I was there." I sighed and glanced at my watch.

"Speaking of, can you gather everyone for the speech? It's time." I said and she nodded.

"What about the guest speaker?" She asked me.

"I'm sure he'll be here by then." I said shooing her away and she ran off, thankfully.

I sighed deeply before turning towards the guests.

"Excuse me, it's almost time for the speech so if you'll follow me." I said and they all nodded before following me to the front of the stage.

I lead them to the chairs that were laid out for the guests with their name tags and when they sat down, I excused myself and went to check on the sound systems and everything else to make sure everything was perfect. Blame my perfectionist ass.

You can never be sure.

In the matter of minutes, everyone had gathered near the stage and were waiting for the guest of honor to appear. I could see more girls than men considering Jane told me they all were here to stare at Roman Angelo, it didn't surprise when I saw their skimpy outfits.

Especially Olivia, whom I didn't fail to notice because she looked like she was hardly wearing anything with that tight red dress that barely covered her mid thigh and showed a good amount of her chest.

Ugh.

I gagged internally and walked over to the other organizers who were standing in the crowd, and soon enough spotted Jane and Matt and walked over to them.

"Hey. You good?" Jane asked me and I nodded, standing between the two and looking round for any sigh of Roman Angelo.

I swear if he doesn't show up all this hard work will amount to nothing.

And as if on cue, I heard gasps and whispers in the crowd and looked over at the stage to see Enzo standing with a man who had his back turned to the crowd.

"That's him." Matt whispered to me as I looked at the man with his back to us.

"You mean Roman Angelo?" I asked him and he nodded before my gaze went back to the man who was now facing the crowd and can I just say... wow.

I was awed as I looked at the definition of a Greek god standing on the stage as he took his place and starting to speak in his deep and velvety voice into the mic.

He had wavy jet black hair that was neatly slicked back, a sharp jawline, perfectly sculpted face and a very light stubble decorating his jaw.

He wore an expensive black suit with a white dress shirt, the first two buttons open that revealed his chest and a tattoo that could be seen if looked carefully. A silver watch was on his wrist that reflected the sunlight when he moved his hand. Overall, he was perfect.

That's why the girls were so excited.

Well, all except the uninterested look he had and the dark and cold expression while he looked at the crowd. Let's not forget the deep scowl on his face from when he was talking to Enzo earlier as if he was forced to come here.

Well, what if he was?

His lips moved as he gave his speech about his grandfather opening the college and what not, while I tried my very best not to stare at him.

"Hot, ain't he?" Jane nudged my elbow and I nodded.

"Eh." I replied and she chuckled under her breath, rolling her eyes while I looked back at the man who scanned the crowd with an indifferent look on his face.

There was something so dark and sinister about him that radiated a 'stay-away-from-me-I'm-dangerous' kind of aura around him and yet, it felt like a magnet. There was no noise except the sound of his voice as he spoke.

I guess he's quite captivating. Huh.

"Look at Olivia." Matt suddenly leaned into my ear and I glanced at Olivia who was standing very close to the stage, giving very seductive smiles to Roman Angelo who didn't even looker way

"Poor thing. She dressed up for nothing." I whispered in Matt's ear and he chuckled lightly.

"Don't worry. It's not like she actually wore anything." He whispered back and before I knew t, I laughed out loud. A bit too loud for my own good.

I mean, it wasn't that loud but considering there was a pin drop silence around me after that, I guess it was. All eyes were on me as my face flushed red and and on instinct, I looked over at the stage and saw Enzo's amused grin looking at me and the my eyes moved over to him, and my breath hitched.

Roman Angelo.

He was staring at me as if I'd murdered him. Or was about to.

Shit.

And stupidly, I didn't look away, I stared head on into his deep green eyes as he looked into mine and this went on for a good few moments before he cleared his throat and continued with his speech, but didn't take his eyes off of me, until Matt shook my shoulder and I turned around to face him and Jane.

"What was that?" Jane asked me ad I shook my head.

"I don't know." I said and looked at her in a daze.

"You just made eye contact with Roman freakin' Angelo for a good minute and you're saying you don't know? You guys were practically eye-fucking each other." She put her hands on her hips and I rolled my eyes before moving out of the crowd with them following behind me.

"It was nothing. I just laughed when Matt said Olivia wasn't wearing anything.' I said as I walked over to a bench and sat down on it, my legs and feet tired from running around.

"Huh.. That is funny. But still. No one has ever looked into Roman Angelo's eyes like that." She said and I sighed and grabbed the lemonade from Matt's hand.

"Drop it Jane. I'm too tired for drama right now." I groaned and she huffed.

"Fine. We'll talk later since I have to check with the caterers anyway." She said before walking away.

"Sorry about that." Matt said as he sat down next to me.

"It's fine. Thanks for making me laugh. I needed it." I said as I laid my head on Matt's shoulder.

"No worried Thea, I've got you." He told me before I smiled briefly, not ignoring the prickly feeling on the side of my face like I was being watched, but I was too tired to move anyway, so I decided to ignore it. For now.

"Well wasn't this day just eventful." He sighed and I chuckled.

"Tell me about it." I said and closed my eyes.

Little did I know I really was being watched by my predator.
