Chapter 78 - Sister's Night Plan

Lena and Kara finish their lunch, having just discussed the logistics of moving in together, and the changes Lena wants to make to her penthouse. The time then ticks to 2PM, and Kara and Lena are both sad by the fact that they know their lunch has to come to an end. Although they know that unlike previous times, that they will see each other again, this evening, because they live together now.

Alura, Ruby, Sam and Alex walk into Lena's office right on 2PM, making sure to knock first. Alex was the one who very much insisted that they knock, thinking that seeing as Kara and Lena were left alone in Lena's office, they could have got up to all sorts of things, away from prying eyes. Thankfully, for Alex, Lena and Kara were not doing anything like that, and called out for them to come in.

"I hope you two had a nice lunch together." Sam smiles, as she walks inside the office.

"Yeah, we did." Kara smiles, "What about you guys?" "Yeah, I think we all had a great time. We got some sandwiches and then sat in a nearby park to eat them. Alura and Ruby then got up and ran around with Alex for a bit." Sam explains.

Kara and Lena both smile upon hearing that.

"It sounds like you all had fun then." Kara smiles. "Yes, we did mommy." Alura says, nodding her head with a big smile.

"Yeah, they sure both have a lot of energy." Alex says, smiling now too.

Kara, Lena and Sam chuckle at that.

"Okay, well I need to get back to work." Sam says, noticing the time.

"Yeah, me too." Alex says, sadly.

"Owwwwww." Ruby groans, not liking the prospect of being stuck in her mom's office for more of today.

"I'm sorry Rubes, but there's nothing else I can do." Sam says, with a sympathetic look on her face.

Kara looks at Ruby, and sees how Alura is still standing next to her, looking so happy to be in the 12-year-old's presence.

"Well, if it's okay with you Sam, and Ruby wants to, she could come hang out with Alura and I for the rest of today." Kara offers, "I can finish my CatCo work at home, from my laptop. Then that way Alura and Ruby can spend time together in Alura's room."

"YES, can I mom?" Ruby, asks, being excited over Kara's offer.

"Uhhhh.... If you are sure about it, Kara?" Sam asks, looking at the blonde.

"Of course I am." Kara smiles, "It'll be no trouble at all, and I know Alura will be happy about it. Isn't that right, Alura?"

"Yes." Alura replies, nodding her head, happily.

"Okay, then." Sam smiles, "Thank you Kara. I'll come pick Ruby up from your place once I've finished work." "Sure." Kara smiles, "There's no rush."

"Alright then." Sam says, turning to look at Ruby. "Now, Ruby, you be good for Kara, okay?"

"I will mom." Ruby says.

"That's my good girl." Sam smiles.

Ruby groans, being embarrassed by Sam.

"Okay, well, I'll leave you to it. And I'll see you later, Ruby." Sam says. "Bye, mom." Ruby says.

"Bye Sam." Lena, Kara and Alura say.

Sam then begins walking out of the office, with Alex walking slowly behind her. "Bye, guys." Alex says. "Bye, Alex." Kara, Lena and Ruby say.

"Bye aunt Alex." Alura says.

Alex then walks to the door, and just as she is about to step out, following Sam, she turns back and looks at Kara.

"By the way, I want all the details about you guys moving in together sometime very soon." Alex says. "Sure." Kara smiles, "We can talk about it at our sister's night." "Okay." Alex nods, with a smile, and then leaves Lena's office.

Once Alex and Sam have left, Kara turns to look at Lena with a smile on her face.

"Well, I guess we all better be off now too." Kara says, even though she wants to stay with Lena, and spend the rest of the day with her, even if she has to just sit there as Lena does her work.

"Yeah." Lena replies, nodding sadly too.

"Okay." Kara nods, "I'll see you later." Kara then steps closer to Lena and takes the brunette in for a quick kiss. "Hmmm..... okay." Lena replies, kissing Kara back. "I'll meet you at your place. I'll probably ride over with Sam, and then you and Alura can grab a few things, and then we'll go to mine."

"Sure." Kara smiles, happily.

Kara and Lena then move away from each other, and Kara walks over to Ruby and Alura, who are still standing next to each other, talking quietly amongst themselves.

"Okay, girls. We better be off then." Kara says, with a smile on her face.

"Okay." Ruby replies, nodding her head happily, very pleased by the fact she will not only be leaving the boring L-Corp office, but getting to spend the rest of the day with Alura.

Alura however has a conflicted look on her face.

"What about momma?" Alura asks, sadly, biting her lip slightly.

"Momma has to work still." Kara explains, "But once she is finished, she'll come over and see us, and then we are going to go spend the evening at momma's place."

"Hmm.... okay." Alura replies, nodding reluctantly, still hesitant about not being close to Lena.

Lena then walks over to Alura, and crouches down and takes her in for a big hug.

"I'll see you later darling." Lena says, "I'll be with you again before you even know it. You just have fun with Ruby, okay?" "Okay, momma." Alura replies, hugging Lena back.

Lena hugs Alura for a few more moments, before the two eventually pull back from their hug. Lena then places a loving kiss on one of Alura's cheeks. "Okay, let's go then." Kara smiles, as Lena stands up.

"Bye girls." Lena says, with a smile. "Bye, aunt Lena." Ruby smiles back, as she and Alura begin to walk to the office door, holding hands again now.

"Bye, momma." Alura says.

Alura and Ruby then walk out the office door, which Kara holds open for them. Kara then turns back to look at Lena. "Bye, Lee. I love you." Kara says, with a massive smile on her face. "Love you too." Lena smiles back.

Kara then turns around and leaves Lena's office, leaving Lena alone for the first time in several days. As Lena is left alone, she realises that even though she just saw Kara and Alura mere seconds ago, she already misses them, which she thinks is absolutely ridiculous. Although, Lena thinks that that's probably what love is. She could spend 365 days of the year with Kara and Alura, with them barely leaving her side, and she would still not feel like it's enough time. Lena knows she has just got to enjoy the time with her two loves, whenever she can, and live in the moment, something she knows she hasn't been good about doing thus far in her life.

Lena arrives home, back to Kara's apartment, with Sam in tow. The duo decided that they might as well share a ride together in Sam's car, seeing as they were both going to Kara's anyway, meaning Lena was able to give her driver the rest of the evening off. Ever since Alura left, after lunchtime, Lena's day got considerably worse, although not because she had any difficult work to deal with. Lena's day was worse because throughout the afternoon, Lena kept looking up at the couch, expecting Alura to be there, forgetting that she had gone home with Kara and Ruby, and then being sad once she realised that was the case. Lena realised that even though she wasn't talking to Alura throughout the morning, just her daughter being in her presence improved her mood, and her day drastically.
