Amara Hunt

"Yeah, I have a customer today, they want a flower design on their leg." I say, talking to my brother on the phone as I walk I to my tattoo shop. I turn on my lights and sit at my desk. "Yeah, they should be here soon so I'll call you later." I say, hanging up. I log into my computer to check my clients name. "Ashe?! She's my customer today?" I say to myself. I let out a big sigh. Of course it's Ashe she knows I'm a tattoo artist.

I then hear the door of my shop open. "Hello?" She calls out. "Ashe." I say, walking up to her. "Amara, what a coincidence." She say, smiling. I see her dimples flash as she smiles. I walk away from her going to my supplies. "Of course you came to me for a tattoo." I say, getting my things together. "Aw don't be mad at me it's only on my thigh." She says, sitting in the chair. I throw a death stare at her as I put my supples on my table beside me.

"A flower, right?" I ask, sitting in my seat. "Yes, a flower." She says, looking me in my eyes. I look away putting my hair up. "Sit back." I say, putting the template on her thigh. I do the necessary preparations before the ink part comes. "You're a fast worker Amara." Ashe says, watching me work. I scoff slightly continuing to put the ink on her skin. "I'm about to shade so it might hurt." I say, giving a warning.

I feel her wince slightly as I start shading. "Not so tough after all huh?" I say, wiping the excess ink off. "Shut up, it just hurts a little." She says, glaring at me. I finish up the tattoo quickly. "There. Don't take the wrap off I'll text you and tell you when." I say, putting my things away. "Hey Amara, can I ask you something?" She asks, making me stop in my tracks. "Yeah what's up?" I say, turning to her.

"Would you maybe want to go out with me?" She says, grinning at me. I blush slightly nodding. "Yeah, I'm free now." I say.

"Let me finish up here, you don't have to pay me by the way. Take this as a gift from me to you." I say, sitting at my desk. "So a tattoo shop hm. Are all of these drawings yours?" She asks, leaning on my desk. "Yep, my signature is in the bottom right corner on all of them." I respond, turning my computer off. I put my beanie back on and I walk out with Ashe.

"So, where to?" I ask, getting in her car.

"I was thinking a park? Well, my favorite park. Don't ask." She says, turning red. I take it as a sign of embarrassment. "Okay then, I like parks." I say, watching the road as she drives to the park.

When we pull up to the park, I notice the sky getting darker and darker. "I think it's about to rain, maybe we should stay in here." I suggest.

"I wasn't planning on getting out anyway." Ashe says, bouncing her leg. She must be nervous about something. I sink into my seat watching the rain turn into a slight thunderstorm.

"So Amara, I've been wanting to ask you something for a while but I've been too nervous." Ashe says, not looking at me. "Hm?" I say in response. "If it's not noticeable, I like you. I like you a lot and I like you because you're basically a multitrack pony." She says, continuing with a laugh.

"You're so good at everything you play just about every instrument in the world, you can draw, you just gave me the coolest tattoo, you're just a cool human and I like you for being you." She says, finally looking at me.

"And your question is?" I ask, smiling at her. "Will you be my girlfriend?" She asks, smiling with her child-like dimples. "Of course Ashe, and I like you too." I say, kissing her on her cheek. I lean on the arm rest face to face with her while I admire her beauty. "I'm tempted to kiss you right now." She whispers, looking from my eyes to my lips. "Go ahead, I don't mind." I say, looking back at her eyes.

I shut my eyes slowly as I feel her soft plump lips on mine. I feel butterflies erupt in me as I get lost in the soft kiss. I smile slightly kissing her once more before pulling back. "You have soft lips." I say. I rest my forehead on hers as we catch our breath.

"I have an idea, it's raining, we're here near the rain, dance with me." She says, getting out the car. She rounds the hood coming to my side. "Come on, dance with me." She says, pulling me out the car. "Alright fine!" I say, closing the door behind me.

We run to the middle of the big sidewalk as we jump and dance in puddles. I feel myself getting pulled to Ashe as we laugh together. We both reach up and move each other's curly hair out of our faces. "Thank you for doing this with me. It means a lot." Ashe says, resting her forehead on mine.

"Anytime, if you're happy I'm happy." I say, wrapping my arms around her neck. "Come on let's go to the bookstore, I want you to make me a coffee." I say, leading her back to the car.

Before we go to the coffee shop we did a quick stop by our dorms to change our clothes. When we arrived at the bookstore, I walk with Ashe to the coffee shop. "I'm basically the manager here now even though I just started." She states, putting her hair up. "What design do you want?" She asks, preparing my coffee. I smile at her.

"Surprise me." I say, watching her work.

She's so focused when she's working on something like this. The way her expression is hard but yet soft, the way her eyebrows are slightly scrunched, the way her hands move while she's doing the design. I snap out of my thoughts seeing Ashe is done. "So I made you a heart with my initials in it." She says, pushing the cup towards me.

My heart flutters at the sight. "I don't know if I want to drink it now this is so cute!" I say. "I don't want to ruin it now." I say, picking the cup up. "Go ahead, taste it." She says.

I bring the cup to my mouth tasting the liquid. I notice my favorite coffee flavor is added to it. "You know my favorite flavor?" I ask, putting the cup down. "I asked Sage." She says, blushing slightly. I smile at her for the millionth time today. Maybe this one will last.
