Ashe Williams
Oh my god. Oh my god I finally asked her out. I just couldn't wait anymore. We just met but I couldn't wait and I'm beyond happy that she said yes. She's everything I've ever dreamed of. I know I sound like a middle school kid but seriously.
I wonder if she's going to be at the bookstore today. It's Saturday and I have a shift today so maybe I'll see her. As I walk in, I see Amara sitting at the front desk with her nose in a book.
My heart skips a beat when I see her. She has her natural hair out with a brown beanie to match her brown hoodie and sweatpants. God, she's beautiful. I'm snapped out of my thoughts when I hear my name being called. "Are you just going stand there and stare at me?" Amara asks, looking at me. Damn I've been caught. "I uh, I wasn't—" I stutter out. Dude come on.
"Stop there, it's fine don't stress about it." She says, laughing slightly. I feel my face heat up in embarrassment. "What are you doing here?" She asks, closing her book. "I have shifts every Saturday now, I'm guessing you do too?" I respond.
"Correct, I don't really do anything on Saturdays either unless I have a client that wants a tattoo or something music related." She says. "Well, I have to go to the back. You should come see me when you can while we're here." I say, throwing her a wink. "Maybe I will. Now go to work before you're late." She says, grinning from ear to ear.
I finally make my way into the coffee shop to start my shift.
"Can I get a coffee?" I hear Amara say. I smile immediately looking up from my phone. "Why yes, m'lady." I say, cringing immediately. "Yeah don't do that again." She says, laughing slightly. "Let me guess, surprise you with a design?" I say, starting on her coffee. "Yes please." She says, leaning on the counter. I just finished a new design earlier so I put it to the test on the coffee. It's a flower with roses attached on a vine. I finish the design putting it on the counter.
"It's a new one so don't judge if it looks weird." I say, watching her take the cup. "It looks fine to me, good job." She says, taking a sip. I grin slightly liking her praise. "Perfect. Thanks my love." She says, kissing me. Holy shit I'll never get enough of that. "Wipe that stupid smirk off your face, I only kissed you once." She says, rolling her eyes at me.
"Can't help it, I'm just really gay for you." I respond, taking my apron off. "When does your shift end?" I ask. "It ended a few minutes ago. Why?" She says. "Good, we're going shopping." I say, checking my watch. "Shopping?" She says, holding my hand. By the way, we recently became dorm mates. I've never been more happy.
I open the door for Amara as she gets in. "Show off huh?" She says. I close the door shaking my head as I round the hood going to my side.
"First, clothes shopping because me personally, I like outfits. So we're getting matching ones." I say, pulling off. "Play your favorite playlist, I like your music taste." I say, giving her the aux cord. "Yes!" She says, putting on a familiar song.
When we arrive at my favorite clothes store, I open the door for Amara like the "show off" I am. "So matching outfits huh? Corny." She says, smiling slightly. "Don't do that, you want to match as much as me." I say, holding her hand. We settled on brown Jordan 1's, brown khakis, brown shirts, and a nice brown jacket with designs. We also got beanies because we both love them.
We try on the clothes in a changing room together. "Looks good to me, oh and I found these bandanas to switch the beanies if you want." Amara says. "Looks good, come on let's go pay for it." I respond. After we finished with clothing, we went to the grocery store for food. "One thing I don't really know how to do is cook." Amara confesses. "Now that's actually surprising." I say, putting things in our cart. "I know how to cook ramen though!" She says, throwing a pack of ramen in our cart.
After that, we finally got home with more things than we expected. We also ended up buying decorations for our rooms. "Ashe! I need help with my led lights!" Amara says. I walk into her room seeing her struggling in a chair. "Girl, how are you still short in a chair." I say, putting the led lights up for her. "Shut up you palm tree." She says. After we basically decorated our entire dorm, we started dinner together. "So what are you cooking?" Amara asks.
"You don't know this but my dad is Italian and he gave me a few of his recipes." I confess. "You're Italian?!" Amara says, her jaw dropping. "Yeah it's hard to believe for most people." I say, cutting onions. "I have a little baguette as a girlfriend oh my gosh!" She says, laughing slightly. "Dude." I respond rolling my eyes. After I finished cooking, I put Amara's plate in front of her. "Yes it's spaghetti but it's my dad's spaghetti and it's better than his." I say, giving her a fork.
"You're not going to eat?" She says, tilting her head. "Nah, I'm not hungry." I say. Truth is, I have a slight eating disorder. Slight isn't really the word. I have a major eating disorder so I'm used to not eating. But she doesn't need to know that for reasons. "This is so good." She says, almost done with the food. "Glad you think so." I say, taking her plate as she finished.
"So Amara, would you like to watch a movie with me in my room?" I ask, bending down to her level while she sitting. "I don't see why not." She says, ruffling my curly hair. I grin going to my room with her. Before I knew it, I was the one dozing off in her arms. The only thing I remember before falling asleep was a gentle "I love you" from Amara. Maybe she's the one. I hope so.
