Chapter 190: How Good You Taste

Ellis POV

The tension was high, but I tried to ignore it. Everything was in the hands of fate and the jury. There was nothing we could do about it right then. There could be an appeal later if we didn’t win, but that was far in the future.

My concern right then was for Olivia. And the fear I could see in her eyes. The wait clearly killed her. I gave her a reassuring squeeze, hoping to calm her nerves.

Filing back in the jury sat down where they were before. They gave nothing away in terms of what was decided.

“Has the jury reached a verdict?” the judge asked.

“We have, your honor,” the foreman said.

“On the charge of obstruction of justice, do you find the defendant guilty or not guilty?”

“Not guilty.”

I thought Olivia might cry, but it wasn’t over yet.

“And on the charge of aiding and abetting, do you find the defendant guilty or not guilty?”

“Not guilty.”
