Chapter 215: Going, Going, Gone

Olivia POV

Hope came with the dawn. Ken was with her, actually, he held her, a little awkwardly, as he waited outside the bedroom door, but seemed as happy as always.

“She couldn’t sleep, too excited,” Ken said.

“Are you sure it was Hope and not you?” I asked, smiling down at him.

“Definitely.”

I knew a lie when I saw one. At least I had learned to, particularly when it came to the Peterson men. They always looked slightly away. Their deep-baked honesty made it impossible to lie to anyone’s face. Which partly explained why none of them ever became a poker pro.

“I see, well, give us a minute, okay sweetie?”

“Okay,” he said, taking Hope back to get room to keep her company.

“Looks like the kids are keen on the idea,” Ellis said, as I shut the door and dropped my robe, getting back in bed.

“Yeah, I’m glad.”

“Is Kevin okay?”
