Chapter 40

"Woah!" Zadkiel shouted as he dodged an attack from a monster.

Said monster is coming from the familiar pool around Tiamat as she is spawning monsters one after the other that are all attacking him as he destroyed and dodged their attacks as he used his wings to fly back and gain altitude.

Tiamat cried, literally cried as more and more monsters were created by the puddle as they attacked the only living thing in that place, which oh so happened to be Zadkiel as he sweatdropped.

'How did it come to this?' Zadkiel thought to himself as he remembered what happened.

Flashback

"Alright I will count to 20 and you gave to hide before I finish. After that I will come and try to find you. You must make sure to hide in a good place." Zadkiel said to Tiamat with a smile.

"Aaahhh!" Tiamat cried happily with a nod.

While the preparations for the marriage is going on he decided to spend time with Tiamat as the dragon goddess does need to be taken care of and he is one of the few people she listens to.

Actually scratch that, she absolutely listens to him. Even if she doesn't listen to others she will listen to him no matter what and will do whatever he says to her.

"I'm starting now." Zadkiel said as he covered his eyes and started counting.

Tiamat immediately moved away as she tried to find a place to hide from him. She looked all around her and took in the various things in the place which she could use to hide herself from the angel. She heard him about to get to the end of his counting as she immediately ran and hid in a place.

"Ready or not here I come." Zadkiel announced as he was finsihed counting.

He decided to forgo the use of his energy sensing ability and just use his normal senses to find her as it would be fair to her and more fun as it is how hide and seek should actually be played.

And so he walked around the garden trying to find her. The place was filled with greenery and plant life so there werr many places to hide. As he was walking he suddenly stopped as he looked ahead.

In front of him a few metres, there is a good amount of shrubbery, with a tree, bushes and flowers as well. Also, the shrub has a very glaring unique thing about it.

It has two familiar black curved horns sticking out of it and not moving. He looked at the two horns and smiled as he walked towards there.

In the bushes Tiamat was hiding as she could see him approaching her position from in between the bushes. She hoped that he wouldn't find her so easily.

"Hmm, now where is she?" Zadkiel said as he looked around the bush and the greenery.

Tiamat let out a silent breath of relief when she heard that and smiled happily at being able to deceive Zadkiel like that.

'I am great at this.' Tiamat thought to herself in her mind.

Zadkiel meanwhile just smiled as he looked at the two horns sticking out of the bushes but he didn't do anything and moved away from there. Tiamat watched him leave as she smiled as she stayed at the place and waited for a few more minutes.

'He still hasn't found me. I'm so great.' Tiamat thought to herself with a smile on her face.

"Wow, Tiamat you really are good at this aren't you." Zadkiel said from behind her in a whisper while smiling.

"Yes... I'm very... good at... this." Tiamat said in a whisper with a smile.

She then looked forward searching for Zadkiel before she blinked her eyes in confusion. Then the words registered in her mind as her eyes widened as she turned around and saw him sitting behind her with a smile on his face.

"How long... have you... been here?" Tiamat asked innocently with shock and surprise.

"Just a few moments ago." Zadkiel said with a smile.

"How did... you find... me?" Tiamat asked him.

"You're horns Tiamat. They were sticking out of the bush." Zadkiel said to her with a smile.

It was then that Tiamat realised her mistake as she touched her horns. Then she pouted when she realised that he had seen her as she gave him a cute glare.

"You tricked... me." Tiamat said with an adorable pout on her face.

"Sorry sorry. But you looked so cute hiding in the bushes that I didn't want to." Zadkiel said to her with a small laugh.

Tiamat blushed when she heard that as she pouted at him and looked away from him as she stood up from her place and walked away.

"Meanie..." Tiamat said as she walked away.

"Okay okay I was wrong in doing that. I'm sorry Tiamat." Zadkiel said as he walked to her and apologized.

Tiamat looked at him before she dropped her pout.

"I will... make another... garland... Stay here." Tiamat said to him as he nodded to her words.

Tiamat them went and collected flowers with which she made a new garland as she hummed happily while Zadkiel looked at her with a smile on his face.

Tiamat completed the garland and was happy with her work as she then turned and walked to him with it. But then she tripped and fell down, but Zadkiel immediately appeared at her side and grabbed her and made sure that she didn't fall down.

"Are you okay?" Zadkiel asked her.

"Yes." Tiamat said with a nod.

Just them they saw some of the animals in the garden running as they ran in front of them. Soon followed by Eve who was laughing happily and then by Adam who nodded at them before running after her.

Tiamat smiled as she looked at her garland only for her to see that her garland is missing from her hands. Something which Zadkiel also noticed as he looked around confused.

"Maybe you dropped it when you tripped." Zadkiel said as he looked around him.

But Tiamat had already found her garland, which was currently squished on the ground, courtesy of the animals who had just run over it a few seconds ago.

Tears welled up in her eyes as she saw it as Zadkiel looked at her. He was alarmed when he saw that as he looked and found the garland on the ground in its squished state. He immediately looked at her with wide eyes as the implications of it came to his mind.

'Oh no.' Zadkiel thought to himself as he looked at her.

"Waaah!" Tiamat cried out as he immediately transported the two of them into a pocket dimension he just created.

And not too soon a very familiar puddle formed from under her as monsters formed and attacke him.

Flashback End

'Right. And to think it was because of a few animals.' Zadkiel thought to himself as he destroyed a few more monsters.

Tiamat was crying as tears fell from her eyes as he frowned at it as he didn't like to see her crying. So he immediately blitzed the monsters and destroyed them before blowing the puddle away. Then he hugged her which caused her to freeze at the contact.

"There there shhh. Calm down Tiamat, I'm here okay. There's no need to cry." Zadkiel said in a soothing tone as he rubbed her back.

"But... But..." Tiamat mumbled as she looked at him.

"It's fine. You can make a new one. I'm fine with any garland as long as you are the one who made it." Zadkiel said to her with a smile.

Tiamat's eyes shined when she heard that as she hugged him back and buried her face in his chest as a light blush appeared on her face.

"Really?" Tiamat asked in a cute voice.

"Yes, really." Zadkiel said with a smile as he hugged her.

"Thank you... Can we... stay like... this longer?" Tiamat asked him as she hugged him.

"Of course." Zadkiel said with a smile on his face.

Tiamat hummed happily as she hugged him with a bright smile on her face. Zadkiel meanwhile just chuckled as he rubbed her head as she nuzzled into his chest, feeling his warmth. She felt further comfort when his wings appeared and wrapped around her which was a nice feeling.

(A/N: I know it's been a long time since my last update but like has been busy and I was getting a writer's block of sorts as I couldn't get any ideas. Not to mention college is starting to stress me out. Hopefully the Christmas vacations will give me time to write. Anyways, thanks for reading my book.)
