New Year Special Chapter - The Angel of Mercy

Zadkiel smiled to himself as he went to Earth as he became invisible to the eyes of the normal people as he went to Britain, easily bypassing the magics of the British organisation, not that they would've been able to anyway since he knows their magic inside and out.

He flew towards a wedding between two 10 year olds that was happening as he watched it happen as he smiled at the sight of the two children marrying each other and the proceedings.

The wedding went beautifully and he used his powers to make sure that the girl can have a good wedding as he kept watch over her as she spent time with her new husband and enjoyed the time.

After the day was done and night fell she laid on her bed and was sleeping as he looked at her with a smile. He then used a spell on her which will make her soul leave her body for a few minutes as her body will keep on functioning.

He saw her soul leaving her body as she was confused as she saw him as her eyes widened in shock. Because in front of her is a beautiful man with fair skin, black hair and green eyes, with 12 shimmering silvery white wings and wearing white and gold clothes as he gently smiled at her.

"Are you an Angel?" Emma asked innocently as he chuckled.

"Yes, my name is Zadkiel. I came here to ask you something." Zadkiel said to her with a gentle smile.

"What do you want to ask?" Emma asked curiously.

She was feeling very happy as she has heard about Angels from her mother and now she is in front of a real Angel and the angel wants to ask her something, she was really happy about it.

"Do you want to experience a life with your family?" Zadkiel asked her with a smile.

"What do you mean?" Emma asked in confusion.

"I will make you experience a dream, a dream where you will be able to enjoy a life where you become free of your disease. However, you will still die. Do you want that?" Zadkiel said to her with a smile.

Emma's eyes widened at that as she thought about it, before she smiled at him and nodded to him as he returned it.

"Alright, may you have a sweet dream." Zadkiel said as he returned her soul to her body.

After that she experienced a dream of a life without her Leukaemia and she managed to live a good life in the dream. After that she woke up and told her parents about being visited by an Angel and the dream, though they thought that she was just dreaming.

Finally, it was the time for her to die as she laid on the bed and was asleep as her family was there and Zadkiel appeared as she looked at him as he made was invisible as he spoke to her soul.

"Hey Emma, are you ready to go? It's time to go to Heaven." Zadkiel said to her with a smile.

"Okay. Thank you for letting me have such a wonderful dream." Emma said to him with a smile.

"Of course, but don't you want to live after that? Seeing the dream and all?" Zadkiel asked her with a smile.

"Well, I already knew that I was going to die and mommy says I'm very lucky to have an Angel come meet me. I don't want to ask too much. I'm happy." Emma said with a smile on her face as Zadkiel's smile widened.

"So you have no regrets?" Zadkiel asked her gently.

"No. I married DJ and I saw how my life will be. I'm happy." Emma said with a bright smile.

"I see. Then I believe it's time you lived the dream I showed you." Zadkiel said to her with a smile.

"What?" Emma asked in confusion.

"I will cure you of your illness Emma and you will be able to live just like I had shown you in the dream." Zadkiel said to her with a smile.

"Really?" Emma asked with wide eyes of wonder.

"Really. On my name as the Angel of Mercy, I cure you of your illness and grant you my blessings." Zadkiel said as she felt her eyes close as he healed her and blessed her before he left the place.

Soon enough, Emma was diagnosed of being cured of her Leukaemia which was a shock to the people as it was treated as a miracle as the doctors were baffled by it. Emma, being the child she is talked about her meeting with Zadkiel which spread quickly due to the miracle that happened as Zadkiel watched it all with a smile.

"You have no reason to die right now Emma. Enjoy your life." Zadkiel said as he vanished.

(This is based on real life Emma Edward who had died from Leukemia.)

On 8 March 1835 in Shibuya, Tokyo and Japan, the Japanese Akita dog name Hachiko, who is called with affection as Hachi as Zadkiel appeared at the place as he knew that it was time for the dog to pass away.

Said dog is waiting for his dead owner who has died many years ago as Zadkiel appeared in front of the dog as he looked at him.

"Hachi, how are you?" Zadkiel asked the dog as he went on his knees in front of him.

The dog looked at him with old eyes as the dog gazed at the Angel and barked in answer, though this did gain the attention of the people in the station as they are used to the dog being silent.

"Do you want to meet with your friend Hidesaburo Ueno?" Zadkiel asked the dog with a smile.

That immediately got the attention of the dog as he stood up and his tail wagged quickly and barked which caught the express attention of the people there. Hidesaburo's wife Yaeko Sakano Ueno looked at him in surprise.

"Hachi?" Yaeko asked in surprise at the dog.

She has been coming here everyday ever since she learned that their dog Hachiko is there, she loved the dog and spent time here after her job to stay with him until she has to return back home as she was confused as many others like the shop owners around as they looked at the dog.

Hachi himself was ecstatic to hear that and wanted to meet with his owner quickly as Zadkiel smiled at the dog.

"Why don't you say goodbye to your friends before that?" Zadkiel said to him with a smile as the dog agreed.

Hachi then went and licked Yaeko and the many people around the area who usually give him food and also those from the shops as many of the people around were surprised at the behaviour of the dog as Hachi licked and rubbed his body as he showed affection to them all before going to Yaeko's side and jumping and licking her some more as Zadkiel watched it all with a smile.

"So, shall we go Hachi. Why don't you lie beside Yaeko." Zadkiel said to the dog as Hachi obeyed and went and theb lied down by her feet as she watched bewildered.

Hachi closed his eyes as he passed away after a few minutes as the dogs soul left his body as Zadkiel gently picked him up as they both looked at his former body.

"Hachi?" Yaeko called out as she touched the dog.

Of course, she didn't get a reaction as she was surprised and then she learned that her dog was not breathing as she went down on her knees as she checked.

"Ha-Hachi is... gone." Yaeko said as the people around gasped at hearing that.

"D-Did he know that he was going to pass away?" A cart shop owner asked in confusion as some tears appeared in his eyes.

"I-I think he did." Another shop owner said as the people around all looked at Hachi, as he is a dog has been waiting there for many years, so they of course knew about him.

"Hachi..." Yaeko said as she looked at the dog.

At the time, the clouds above parted to let sunlight fall over the body of Hachi as the people watching were shocked at the occurance.

"Hachi..." Yaeko said in surprise as tears fell down her eyes as she rubbed the head of the dog.

Many of the people there saw it as an act of divine power as the sun was shining it's light only on Hachi which shocked the people as many preyed for the soul of the loyal dog.

"Let's go Hachiko." Zadkiel said as he took the dog with him to otherworld of the Shinto pantheon.

He reached the place with the dog hovering beside him as they reached the place, and Hachi's eyes widened when he spotted his owner Hidesaburo standing in the otherworld as the dog immediately ran towards him and jumped on him and started to lick him as Zadkiel watched the man laughing as he hugged and rubbed his dog.

"Thank you." Hidesaburo said after Hachi had calmed down as he looked at Zadkiel with a grateful look.

"It's fine. Enjoy your time together, you deserve it. And Hachi has waited for years and he deserves it." Zadkiel said before he left the place.

Hachiko meanwhile jumped onto his owner and kept on licking him as Hidesaburo laughed at the act as Zadkiel saw them enjoying the time as he smile.

After that he attended the funeral for Hachiko, and then he helped in the creation of the statue, giving it money and also enhancing it with magic to make it very powerful so that no human or supernatural will be able to break it, and even if they were able to have the strength, well, they will have to go through him first.

(This was also based on the story of Hachiko, the loyal dog.)

Zadkiel walked through the desolate wasteland in the mediaeval era which was filled with the corpses of the people who had been massacred in a war, innocent people as he saw a few of them crying with their loved ones as he went to the side of a man who held his wife.

"Ahan..." The man cried as he held his wife, though he did notice him, but he just ignored him.

Zadkiel looked at the man and the rest who were crying at the loss as the Angel watched them before he took a few steps back.

"This is the time for a miracle. These people don't deserve it." Zadkiel said as he raised his right hand and snapped his fingers.

The moment he did that Holy Energy washed over the entire area which caused the surviving people to be shocked as the dead bodies to light up before the bodies healed and the people started to wake up in confusion as they looked around them all.

"Wh-What happened?" One woman asked in confusion.

"I-Its him. He br-brought all of you back to life." The man who was holding his wife said as he hugged his wife while looking at Zadkiel.

The people around looked at Zadkiel as they looked at the people.

"Wh-Who are you sir?" One little girl asked as she looked at him.

"My name is Zadkiel, Angel of Mercy." Zadkiel said to her with a smile.

"A-An Angel! Can you show me your wings?" The little girl asked him in surprise.

"B-Baby, come on now. Don't trouble him." The girls mother said as she held her daughter as the other people looking at him.

They were still surprised at his proclamation of being an Angel, though the fact that he had brought them all to life was real, so they didn't say anything.

Zadkiel who knew about this just chuckled as he unfurled his wings and his halo appeared over his head. The people gasped when they saw that as many went on their knees as the adults looked at him in reverence as they clasped their hands while the children looked at him in wonder and awe.

"Don't worry, go east from here. And you will find a place where you will be able to rebuild your village, it will have feritle soil for you to drow crops and raise cattle." Zadkiel said to them all as he lifted himself up and bit into the air and looked at them.

"Th-Thank you. Thank you for letting me see this day." An old woman said as she has tears in her eyes, something which was reflected in the other humans.

"Do not worry, you can now go and rebuild your village and I shall bless you so that you will have protection. However, should you become lazy and rely only on Heaven, then I will take the blessing back." Zadkiel said to them in a calm tone.

"We will. We will Lord Zadkiel." The one who was the leader of the village said as many of them also gave their gratitude.

Zadkiel just smiled and looked at the children as they were looking at him with wonder as he smiled at them before his entire being shone bright causing them to all close their eyes before he vanished. The villagers all opened their eyes to see that he was gone, but they gained confidence as their faith also increased as they followed his directions and created a thriving village who worship God and his Angels.

"So, who broke it?" Zadkiel asked as he looked at the assembled group of Angels while looking at an ornate chalice.

The assembled Angels were Azazel, Michael, Baraqiel, Shemhazai, Penemue, Raguel.

"I'm not mad, I will never be mad about it. I just want to know who did it, because otherwise my wives are going to go berserk that my chalice that they gifted to me was broken." Zadkiel said to them as he looked at them.

It was silent for a few moments before Michael looked at his brother.

"Actually, it was me... I broke it." Michael said as he raised his hand.

"No. No you're not. Azazel?" Zadkiel said as he looked at said Angel.

"Why are you looking at me? Look at him." Azazel said as he pointed at Baraqiel.

"What? I didn't break it." Baraqiel said in anger.

"Huh... that's weird. How did you even know it was broken?" Azazel asked with a suspicious gaze.

"Because it's sitting right in front of us, and it's broken." Baraqiel said to his fellow Angel.

"Suspicious..." Azazel said with the same suspicious gaze.

"No it's not!" Baraqiel said to him at that.

"I-If it matters, probably not but... Penemue was the last one who had it." Shemhazai said to him.

"By father's name! You're a liar! I don't even use it!" Penemue said to her brother.

"Oh really, then what we're you doing with it before?" Shemhazai asked her with a stern gaze.

"Because I was admiring it, it is a beautiful chalice." Penemue said to him in slight anger.

"Okay, let's not fight. I broke it, I can take responsibility." Michael said as he looked at the owner of the chalice.

"No. Who broke it because only after that can I come up with a good way to calm them down." Zadkiel said to them as silence reigned again.

"U-Um, Zadkiel, Raguel has been real quiet for a long while so..." Azazel said to him in a whisper.

"Oh really now!?" Raguel who heard his brother said as the discussion escalated as Zadkiel blinked.

While this was happening, Kokabiel who was watching it all moved away.

"I broke it. I was admiring it and I accidentally broke it. Well, things were becoming a bit too quiet anyways. Besides, I'm sure Zadkiel can fix it." Kokabiel said as he flew away, ignoring the VERY loud explosion that happened soon after.
