"I can hear you out there," Jaxon's amused voice called out from inside his home office, freezing me mid-step. I'd been pacing in front of his door for close to fifteen minutes now, and I still hadn't worked up the courage to actually go into the office and talk to him. I hadn't felt this nervous in a while, but it was a welcome change.
