Jaxon
I hadn’t been entirely excited about a party when Sara first mentioned it but now that we were setting up and people were arriving I was more into it. It seemed like a weird mix of people to be bringing together to celebrate our new child. Of course, we couldn’t tell people that was the real reason. I focused on pulling out more bottles of wine and less on the complicated situation.
"Are you ready?" Sara asked cheerfully, reaching up to kiss my cheek. I wanted to roll my eyes, but I kept my composure.
"As ready as I can be. Do you think this is enough?" I asked, gesturing toward the wine bottles and glasses I set out. Sara chuckled.
"I think that’s plenty!" She moved around and adjusted some of the food trays that the staff had set out earlier. I pulled her close to me and brought my lips down on hers.
