Jaxon
Tatiana looked like she wanted to scream or reach across the table and choke me. I tried to hold back my laughter. For the first time I felt like I had actually outsmarted her and she had no comeback for me. I felt just the slightest relief in all the stress and tension I had been carrying.
"You can’t really expect me to accept this?" she demanded. She leaned forward and partially spit her words at me. I leaned further back in my chair and crossed my arms over my chest, trying to create as much distance between us as possible. I glanced at Sara out of the corner of my eye. She still looked tense. It was clear she was still afraid of Tatiana and didn’t realize we had won. I wanted more than anything to comfort her and help her relax, but I couldn’t lose focus right now. I had to win this power struggle with Tatiana.
"What else would you propose?" I asked, with a hint of arrogance in my voice. I knew I shouldn’t taunt her but it was hard to resist.
