Antonio’s eyes lit up immediately, and I recognized that kind of fiery expression.
"Are you absolutely certain?" he asked in a strange tone. My body tensed and I waited anxiously. "Contain him, at whatever cost. Keep him there."
He stood up quickly and motioned for Sara and me to follow him. I took her hand and guided her along with me. I held her hand tightly and studied her face. Her cheeks were burning and her eyes were wild. I couldn’t blame her. My heart was pounding along with my head. This could be it and I had to keep it together.
Antonio led us back outside and around the alley to where his car was waiting. He was only giving "yes", "no" or "mmph" as a response to the other person on the phone, so I had no idea who he might be talking to or where we were going.
I had an idea and I hoped I was right. All I knew for certain was that it was a lead, and my heart was racing.
