The doctor texted me, and thank Christ, Sara was okay. She just needed food, rest, an antibiotic and our kids back. He assured me that he had the first three covered, and I would take care of the rest no matter what it took.
Besides, the good doctor owed me a favor. I knew that he would take good care of Sara while I took care of this.
"I love you, baby," I whispered to her. "I'll let you know what I find out today."
I wished like hell I could be with her right now, instead of on the phone. But a woman matching Dana's description was in the area, and I needed to check it out. It was the first solid lead we had on the nanny, and I didn't trust anyone else to do it.
"I love you too, so much. Just please, be careful," Sara replied, "I need you to be okay. I can't do it without you."
"Don't worry, I got this," I assured her. "Just get some rest, and do what the doc tells you. I'll be home soon. I love you."
