I still didn't want to talk to Jaxon. He'd made me furious. How could he have neglected to tell me about the ranch? About the real reason it existed? And about our neighbors! It seemed like a pretty big thing to forget.

The trouble was, we were in the private jet, and there was only so much I could do to get away from him. Not a lot of space.

I found myself wishing we had flown commercial. At least there would have been an aisle between us. Other passengers, a flight attendant or two.

Something. Anything.

"So, what are you going to be working on when we get back?" my husband asked me. He had been trying to get a discussion going since we'd boarded. I just wasn't in the mood.

"I have writing to get back to." I replied vaguely, refusing to give him the satisfaction of a real response. "I have some project deadlines to meet. And I need to see Tori and Lauren."
