Camilla
Two Years Later
"Thank you so much, Camilla! Are you sure I can’t offer you anything?" Rebecca insisted.
I smiled at her. I loved how much she cared and wanted to thank me. It only made me want to help her more.
"No, thank you. I’m just glad I could help you. Plus I love your children, they are so sweet," I answered.
Rebecca pulled me in, unexpectedly, and held me close. "I really appreciate you, I’m not sure what I would have done if I didn’t have you here to help."
My cheeks were flushing, and I held onto her tightly.
"You’re always welcome; I’m always here."
She pulled away from me with one last smile before heading to her car where the kids were waiting.
I waved goodbye as she drove away. I had watched these children grow up the past two years and had become more attached to them than to some of the other children I worked with.
I shut the door and shuffled back into the main part of the house.
