“So is this where you saw  them in your vision,” I ask Hope, scanning the park, “I don’t see anybody here. Are you sure?” 


Hope’s vision has led us to the park on the other side of town. Flowers bloom in urns along crosswalks, and a bridge allows pedestrians to walk from one length of the duck pond to the other. I’m sure it’s a lovely place to spend time with friends during the day. But nightfall has given the place an eerie atmosphere. Shadows lengthen in the deepening twilight, and the old fashioned street lights cast a strange glow over the space. I suppress a shudder as I look around me. 


“Yes, definitely,” she replies, scanning the area, “I’m looking for a willow tree by a picnic  bench. That’s where she’s going to try to kill Dan. Have you ever been here before? Do you know where that might be?’
