Someone started to beat on the front door.
Opening it, the police looked me up and down.
"Can we come in?"
I shook my head,"No. I'll appreciate if you stop beating on my door as well."
"Well come outside to talk. You already know what we are here for. No need to pussyfoot around." The woman said.
The door was pulled opened wider. Aurora stood and watched the two detectives. I laughed as they gulped.
Aurora had on a shirt that showed off her tattoos. And I'm sure they know who she is.
"Is anything wrong Cameron?" She asked me but she still watched them.
I rolled my eyes, why didn't my intimidation work on them?
"There isn't anything wrong. Unless you know anything about the deaths of those men that was found on last night."
Oh he bold.
"Do you have a warrant?"
"No."
"Then get the fuck off my property." I said as Aurora slammed the door in their faces.
"Mommy I'm hungry." Noah appeared with his hand in his hair.
She motioned for him to follow her. I sighed, they didn't have anything on me. I'm sure of it. Why am I worried? This isn't my first rodeo.
But there is a first Sunday in every month.
I sat Layla in my lap as we all ate in silence.
"Fuck."
I looked at Aurora,"She isn't going to say it anymore."
I leaned back as Layla continued eating. Did this little girl know she was about to get a spanking from her mother?
"Can we play outside?" Aiden asked.
I looked at their plates.
"Damn. When the last time y'all ate?"
They laughed and put their plates into the trash then looked at Aurora. She nodded making them take off. I handed Layla to her.
"I have to pee."
After using the bathroom. Aurora passed me the phone when I walked out. That was quick as fuck. I looked as all the messages started to load up.
The phone started to ring. What the hell? I just turned it on.
But it was my mother.
I answered it,"Yes Mother?"
"I've been calling all morning! You need to bring your family to the house. There is a bad storm coming and I have a bad feeling." She said quickly.
I looked outside again. It did look pretty bad. Almost like the sky has fallen.
"Aiden! Noah!" I yelled unto the porch.
They both came running.
"Sit in here for a minute."
My mom smacked her lips,"Cameron Alexander bring your family here now. We're not taking any chances. See you in twenty minutes."
The call ended. Aurora looked at me and started to jog upstairs.
"Put them in the car! I have to get my phone!"
I slid on my slides, picked Layla up and grabbed my keys. The boys followed me outside. I opened the door and sat Layla in her car seat and buckled her down. After doing the twins, Aurora finally came out and got in the car.
"I never would have thought you would be so afraid of the weather." I told her pulling the truck out into the highway.
She grabbed my hand and squeezed. A drug dealer afraid of storms. There wasn't much traffic on the road which gave the advantage. I was going way faster than usual.
Aurora would've scolded me but I don't think she noticed. Pulling into the driveway of my mothers house, we got the kids out and ran to the bunker.
The fucking bunker.
Lucas and Mia was there with their daughter, Harley. Why isn't Mia with her family? I don't know. Lucas on the other hand, didn't get along with his parents.
Layla stayed in my lap while everyone watched the news.
I stood up,"I'm going to take a nap."
Aurora followed me and Layla to the room on the corner of the bunker. Layla jumped down and climb to the top of the bed.
I wasn't the only one tired. I threw my phone on the bed and climbed in beside Layla. Aurora laid in front of me and started to watch tv on her phone.
Thundering hit making the lights go out. The emergency lights immediately came on along with the backup generator.
But the generator only powered the tv and meat room.
Aurora moved closer to me,"I'm scared."
My phone started to Ding. A message? I laughed, everyone I know is here so who could that be? Aurora picked up the phone and unlocked it.
She slowly raised up and looked at me.
"What's wrong?"
She inhaled as her face turned red. Something was wrong. Shit! She was scaring me. What did I do!? Think! Think! Think!
"Are you cheating on me?" She asked.
Was she playing? I don't cheat!
"No..."
Not that I know of. I admit sometimes I watch other women for far too long. I can't help it.
She threw the phone at me and stormed out the room. I looked at the phone. Mia? Why would she send that? A naked picture of herself? This has to be a mistake.
Oh shit! I jumped out the bed and ran out the room.
Aurora wasn't in the living room though, neither was Mia.
"Where is Aurora?"
Lucas replied,"In the room with Mia."
I motioned for him to follow me. When we were out of eyesight, I pulled him closer.
"Why did Mia send me a naked picture? Is it some kind of prank? Because Aurora is in there with her and I don't think she's happy." I asked showing him the picture.
He pushed passed me,"It's definitely not a prank."
We walked into the room. Aurora was sitting on the bed staring down the glass shower door. Mia sung in the shower, unaware of what's going on around her. She turned the shower off, grabbed a towel and stepped out.
Worst mistake she could've did.
She jumped when she realized everyone was in the room.
"Why did you send Cam a nude?" Lucas asked her.
She looked at me then Aurora,"I didn't mean to. I tried to send it to you but I pressed the wrong name."
"Your lying. Cameron name looks Nonthing like Lucas. Their names shouldn't be near each other in your phone." Aurora said.
Then she stood up and stepped closer to the younger woman,"Are you and Cameron having sex?"
"N-o, No!" Mia stuttered.
What. Why did she stutter!? Lucas looked at me angrily. I wasn't having sex with that girl! What's wrong with the both of them!?
Aurora stepped back in shock.
What the fuck wrong with her!?
She looked Mia up and down in disgust,"This isn't over."
Aurora pushed passed me making me grab her arm. Why did I do it? Because I'm fucking innocent. She turned around and slapped me.
Hard.
My hair fell over my face as the stinging got worse. Did she just hit me? In, Out, In, Out. When I looked up again she was gone. I looked at Mia then at Lucas.
"Mia and I aren't sleeping together." I said and left the room.
I hate it here.
I walked into the living room. When did everyone go to bed? I shrugged and turned on the tv.
She really slapped me.
But what if Mia tried to send that on purpose?
I don't give a fuck. I got who I want. It's sick as fuck if she think I would go behind Lucas back.
But then again, When have the universe been on my side?
I groaned at the smell of the food. When did I fall asleep? Who put this cover over me? I stood up and folded the cover. My mother stood in the kitchen cooking.
After showering and brushing my teeth in the guest bathroom, I grabbed my AirPods, and came back out to see everyone sitting around the table eating.
I wasn't hungry.
I sat on the couch and continued watching tv. Until my phone started to ring. Lily? I stood up again and walked downstairs to the basement. It really was my dad man cave, but he isn't here anymore.
"Yes Lily?"
She laughed,"I'm doing fine thanks for asking. I'm calling to inform you that you have another flight scheduled for 2:00. It's apart of your feed the people program, in Africa. And it's only for one day."
I looked at the time, 12:00.
"Is it not storming outside?"
She shook her head,"The storm ended last night. Do you mind if I go with you?"
"Nope."
"Ok meet you at the airstrip." She said then ended the call.
She's way better at being an assistant than Lucas was. Even though he never really was it. As a matter of fact he doesn't have a job, still. I don't think he wants one.
Jogging back upstairs, everyone was packing up. That's good. I would still have time to pack and maybe get another nap in. I picked Layla up and carried her outside as the boys followed behind.
"Do you guys want to come back for dinner?" My mother asked.
Lucas nodded.
Aurora did as well.
Fuck these folks, I'm not coming back.
When we arrived home, the children were asleep. These kids are lazy! It wasn't even a long drive. After carrying them into the house, I immediately went upstairs and started to pack.
Three suits.
Four dress clothes.
And sleeping clothes should be enough. If not, I'll buy more when we arrive. Walking downstairs with the luggage, I looked at the phone, 1:15, it's about a thirty minute drive to the airport so I should hurry.
I looked around, Aurora was nowhere in sight. I wasn't mad. I put the suitcase in the car and turned it on. Fuck! I need a energy drink. Getting out the car, I walked back into the house.
Aurora stood fixing her a glass of water. I swallowed and grabbed the energy drink out the refrigerator. Before she could say anything, I was back outside in my car.
