Chapter 6

"I won't ask you again," Her mother said, her eyes blazing with anger.

Larissa gaped at her leg in shock.

"Who did this to you, bestie?" She asked.

She stared at them speechlessly, then feigned a smile

"Come on, why the serious faces?" She laughed.

"No one did it, it's the fault of the heels I wore today," She smiled convincingly.

Mrs Tyler breathed in relief while Larissa stared at her face to be sure she was telling the truth.

"Come on, let me apply something to it," Mrs Tyler said.

Camilla nodded and followed her.

"I hope she isn't hiding something?" Larissa muttered.

The following day, Damien was working in his office when Camilla rushed into the office panting heavily.

"What is it?" He glared at her.

Her eyes widened in their sockets as she stared at him.

'You called me here you jerk,' She felt like screaming in his face, but she just couldn't.

"You called me here sir," She said and he smirked.

"I know I called you here, but why are you panting this way?" He inquired.

"I ran all the way here because am still working on the documents," She explained through gritted teeth.

"Okay," He simply shrugged.

"I need a cup of coffee, so go get it," He announced.

"Okay, sir," She nodded and left.

She rushed into the pantry and made a coffee with a cup she saw on the table.

She made sure to make the coffee sweet so he wouldn't have a chance to complain.

She took the already-made coffee to his office and dropped it on his desk.

He took a glance at the coffee and then at her, He tasted the coffee and spat it out angrily.

"What is this?" He demanded, dropping the cup on the table.

"That's the coffee you..." She was saying till he cut her off instantly.

"I didn't tell you that I wanted to have diabetes," He glared.

"But, it's just..."

"How many cubes of sugar did you put in there?" He cut in, pointing at the cup of coffee.

"Just four," She shrugged.

"What?" He half-yelled.

"And you call it just four?" He added.

"But..." She was saying till he cut her off.

"Make me a black coffee," He said and she nodded.

She left the office and headed to the pantry.

Damien frowned deeply

"Very crazy," He muttered.

After a few minutes, she returned with a black coffee from the same cup she used earlier.

Damien gasped when he saw her with it.

"Who owns it?" He pretended not to know it was his.

"It's yours, I mean you asked me to get you a cup of black coffee," She explained.

"Did you use that cup to make coffee for me?" He asked angrily.

"Is anything wrong with it?" She inquired, checking the cup out.

"It's not bad, bring it," He said, stretching his hands toward her.

She gave him the cup and boom!

The glass pieces shattered on the floor, creating deafening sounds.

"What...Why? But you said..." She stuttered, completely confused about what to say.

"Next time, use my cup for me," He said strictly, with a note of warning.

"You could have simply explained it, then being cocky," She muttered

Damien glanced at her shortly.

"What did you say?" He asked with raised brows.

"Nothing sir," She faked a smile.

"It better die in you. Come on, hurry up and clean this mess," He snapped his fingers.

Camilla stood dazed for a moment.

"But that's not my duty, I mean, it's the duty of the janitor to do it. So I'll just go call them," She explained and walked towards the door.

She was about to open the doorknob when his voice stopped her.

"I'm the boss here right? So I have the right to tell who to do it or not, so I'm asking you now to do it," He said, his voice rising.

She sighed and nodded.

She came back and bent to pick up the glass while Damien stared with widened eyes.

"What the hell does she think she's doing, doesn't she know that it can hurt her?" Damien wondered.

She picked it up and was about to pick another one when it mistakenly pricked her fingers.

Blood rushed out and her eyes widened immediately after she saw it.

"Oh no…" She swiftly stood staring at her finger.

She hates the sight of blood and that's why she's acting this way.

"Go and treat it, I'll call someone to clear this mess," He said and turned his back on her.

'Ruthless being, why didn't you ask the janitor to clear it instead when I told you?' She wondered.

She left the office without saying a word.

Camilla sat in her office, attending to some files when her gaze involuntarily shifted to the photo she kept on her desk.

It was that of her, her mom and Larissa. They looked more like sisters than friends.

She remembered what Larissa told her. She felt pity, and sorry for her.

"Some parents are just..." She shook her head, pitifully.

"I can feel for her," She sighed.

Larissa was in her office preparing for the show she has with Jennifer Cassidy, one of the most popular and pretty Models in the whole of San Diego.

She sighed sadly when she remembered her parents.

She misses them a lot but she had to leave the house because she found out about their plans.

She was still in the office when she remembered she was going to shop at the grocery store before heading home.

She called her secretary who rushed into the office.

"I'll be leaving now, take care," She said standing up.

"Sure ma, bye," She bowed respectfully.

Larissa picked up her bag and left the company.

She's the CEO of L- Design, the most popular company in charge of making dresses, and creating styles and designs.

She once asked Camilla to work here but she later refused, saying she was not going to cope, and honestly speaking, she wouldn't have coped.

She boarded a cab to the Grocery store.
