Queenly Treatment

Rina couldn't say any more words.

She was only trying to help and here she was being blamed for trying to be of help.

"Oh, my bad. I'm sorry for thinking you needed help. I didn't like the fact that you were the third wheel in our relationship and this is what I get for trying to fix that"

"Have I ever asked you to help me to fix anything? Did I tell you that I have problems with being a third wheel? " Hazel asked

One thing she hated was having someone walk into her life without her complete approval. Or consent.

"I am not mad at you for setting me up on a date. I knew you're just worried about me and I appreciate that"

"But Rina, let it stop right there. No more conversations with Jason behind my back. I barely know this guy. What if he turns out to be a stalker? Or some psychopath?"

Hazel exhaled

"We don't know for sure. So please Rina, stop telling him everything about me. And stop talking to him."

"I'm only trying to help"

"I didn't say you aren't. You helped me set up a profile. You chatted him up on my behalf and now I got a date. Thank you. Now stop talking to him. It's the same as trying to know everything about our relationship"

Rina's silence assured Hazel that her friend now got her message.

She didn't appreciate her conversations with Jason.

"You're jealous" Rina teased

"What? No" Hazel said walking into her room.

"Oh my goodness…..You're jealous!" Rina said as she followed Hazel into the room.

"You're trying to change the conversation here"

Rina exhaled

"Okay. I won't talk to him anymore and I'll stop being the third wheel." She offered

"Thank you. Now, I want to sleep for the next two hours after that, you can work your magic afterwards" Hazel pleaded

"Fine. I am so excited, Zel!"

Hazel sank into her bed and pulled the duvet over her head. Rina was going through her wardrobe, planning Zel's look for the evening.

If she were a celebrity, she would employ Rina as her stylist. Not because she's a friend, it's because of how good she was.

Hazel wondered why Rina doesn't work for some celebrity of some sort. Her work was that good.

That's a story for another day. Right now, she needs to sleep and relax her head.

**********

"Zel!!!! Get up!!!"

Hazel jerks out of her bed in shock; what was happening?

"Come on! You have to get ready. Come on!" Rina pulled her by her arm, out of the huge bed.

Hazel whined about giving her twenty minutes more worth of rest. She felt so tired and didn't want to leave her bed

"Come on! Go take a shower" Rina coaxed

Hazel found her way to the bathroom with her eyes half-closed. How could she get ready when she's so tired and in need of rest.

"Hurry Zel. We barely have an hour to get ready!!"

Hazel glanced at the alarm clock on her dressing table. She indeed overslept.

"Rina, why didn't you wake me up earlier?" Hazel whined

"I did but you preferred the date in your dreams"

Hazel rolled her eyes as she runs herself a bath.

Ten minutes later, she was out and now sitting on her bed quietly. Watching Rina swiping her brush here and there artistically.

Should she be worried? Rina seemed too serious at this point and it was starting to scare Hazel.

Hazel's phone beeped; a call from Jason.

"Oh no…"

"Jason?" Rina asked

Hazel nodded

"Talk to him"

"What if he's already outside?"

"Correction there, he said he's going to send a driver right?" Rina asked

"Yes."

"So answer the phone Zel"

Hazel placed the phone in her ear.

"Hey"

"Hey, beautiful. How are you?"

"I'm…fine"

"The driver is outside already. Whenever you're ready"

"Okay."

"See you soon"

Hazel stared at Rina with a knowing look.

"What's wrong?"

"The driver is outside already"

"Looks like we have to wrap things up"...
