Hazel heads towards the stairs, her eyes fixed on Vincenzo as he walks up the stairs. He looked exhausted but surprisingly, he retained his charm and handsome looks.

He stops on arriving at the landing. He turned in her direction, brows frowned in concern.

Hazel wondered if she had said anything unconsciously as she stared at him like a hopeless romantic….

"What's wrong with you?" He asked

"Uhm?" She asked

He tilts his head as though he knew something was wrong with her. He glances over his shoulder, dismissing Matteo who bowed his head and heads back down the stairs. He approached her, each step barely audible. Hazel wasn't sure if she could do this anymore. She wanted to ask him a lot of questions now, she wasn't so sure if she wanted to ask those questions anymore….

He placed his hand on her forehead, trying to feel her temperature, he yanked his hand away rather quickly.

His eyes had turned from concern to anger.

Another she couldn't understand. While he could read her mind, she couldn't read his, making it difficult to understand him sometimes.

"Were you with Millie?" He asked harshly

Hazel almost flinched in fright at his tone, he was upset.

Why on earth would he be mad at her? She's done nothing wrong, has she? And how did he know she'd been with Millie?

"Answer my question, Hazel!" He snapped

She frowned, feeling her anger seeping through the cracks of her rather patient self…

"You want me to answer your questions and you wouldn't answer mine!" She snapped

He narrowed his gaze at her, she wouldn't dare to defile him in front of other people…

It was unacceptable and he wasn't about to let her do that!

Vincenzo grabbed her arms and marched straight to his room. Hazel had remained quiet, knowing she shouldn't have said that in the open.

The reason why she couldn't do that was unclear to her but something told her, she should never have done that.

"Hi bo,o dear! You're back!" Eva cheered

Vincenzo ignored her as he pulls Hazel into the room with him and slammed the door hard behind him.

He turned to her, face trembling in severe anger. She had no idea what she had done by going to Millie's room and by allowing her to place that stupid spell on her!

"Do you have any idea what you've done?!" He asked

Hazel bows her head as she clenches her fist in anger. She had told herself she wouldn't dare to bother him again. That she was only going to be his maid and nothing else. Whatever their relationship was, it wasn't clear and he had better say it in words she would understand!

Vincenzo exhaled. He leaned both hands on the door, Hazel right in front of him.

Why is she so stubborn about this? Didn't he tell her who she was to him about a few hours ago?

"He wasn't mad about her question, he was mad Millie placed that spell on her. Was he so unapproachable that she felt the need to heighten Hazel's confidence?

It was an insult. Both to him and his queen. How dare she do such without seeking consent? And why does Millie think she could contribute to whatever he had going with him and Hazel?

Maybe he wasn't taking things seriously like they supposed he would and they were hoping to get them together before the next eclipse…

He could understand their plight but this isn't the way to go about it.

It wasn't about him alone this time, it was about Hazel and how she would be able to adapt to a world like his.

"Are you okay?" He asked

"I'm not okay" she replied

He sighed

"Look at me"

"I don't have to for you to make your point!" She snapped

How many doses of that spell did they give to her? She was being sassy with him.

That isn't like her.

Oh, how much he wants to tell Millie off for this….

"Please" he adds softly

Hazel stared at him in the eyes and within a second, he was able to break the spell.

Hazel felt a slight headache and had to hold onto Vincenzo for balance.

"W…what happened?" She asked

"You don't want to know." He chuckled.

He helps her sit down on the bed while he squats in front of her. He knew she needed some time to gather herself together. He couldn't hold back his laughter on seeing Hazel looking confused.

"Are you making fun of me?" She asked

"Yes I am" he admits

Hazel pouts in annoyance, just when he ought to explain what was going on, he only makes fun of her. How fair!

Vincenzo exhaled

"I'm sorry," he said

Hazel sighed, he must have heard her whining about not knowing what her relationship with him was. What if he heard when she cried?

"What?!" He asked

Hazel covered her mouth and shook her head vigorously. She didn't want him to hear that. First, it was embarrassing and humiliating and secondly, she thought he'd March straight to Eva and give her a piece of his mind.

She didn't want to be the reason they would fight….

"You don't want me to talk to Eva?" He asked

Hazel exhaled

"I'm not jealous or anything but I don't want to be the reason you and Eva would fight." She said

"Why shouldn't we?" He asked

Hazel exhales again

"I don't know…you two seem…" Hazel shrugs

He narrowed his gaze on her, not sure what she meant by those words.

"Eva is my ex." He offered

"I knew it!!" Hazel said aloud.

Her outburst was a shock to Vincenzo and it seems like she realised how absurd her reaction had been.

Hazel cleared her throat.

"If..if she's your ex, why do you let her go"

Hazel imitates Eva

"Is that you boo bear? Oh my boo boo dear!"

Hazel made a disgusted face.

Vincenzo laughed, that was the first time she'd seen him do that. His eyes were almost closed as he laughed to his heart's content

"I really shouldn't have said that," Hazel said

"Why not? You told me you didn't like her calling me that name and you told me you don't like her touching me. I'll warn her about it" he promised

"Why would you do that?" Hazel asked

"Because you're way more important to me than she is" he admits

Hazel stared at him in silence, he was bring way too sincere.

"No way!" She looks away from him. It was like there was something about him staring at her in the eyes that made her drool like a fool! She's not falling for that today.

"I want to know what you mean by that. Does that make me your…"

"Girlfriend? Yes. Fiancee? Yes. My partner? Yes" he replied

//His mate….yes//

Hazel stared in silence and found herself lost in those lovely eyes.

"No way!" She looks away again.

Vincenzo knew just what she was avoiding, making his efforts futile…

"We didn't get to go on dates!" Hazel snapped

"And you didn't ask if I wanted to be your girlfriend, you just…claimed me!" She accused

"Is that wrong?" He asked.

Hazel was puzzled, does he have the least idea of how dating goes?

He shrugs

"In my world, we claim partners. We never really have to go on dates and ask women out. It's an innate connection." He explained

"Like the one we have?" She asked

He nods

"Once we have that connection, that's all the confirmation you could ever need," he said

Hazel processed the update.

"Did you feel the same for Eva?" She asked

He shook his head.

"Eva…was a really good friend. I believed I loved her but the real thing I felt for her was a pity. Nothing else" he explained

"But you feel it…for me?'"

He chuckled.

He leans in close, staring down at her.

"Should I prove it to you?" He whispered

Hazel was lost again but if she wanted answers…

Hazel looks away from him as she pushes him back in a squat with her palm.

"Well, I'm human and I go out on dates and try to know the person I am interested in, " she pointed out.

Vincenzo tilts his head, she isn't human but he had to agree with her.

"We could…arrange that" he offered

"And watch movies, stay up late talking…"

"Yes ma'am" he smiled

"Visit the tallest building in the country…"

"Stay in my room" he adds

Hazel frowned

"What?" She asked

"You'll be staying up here from now on" he announced

Is he being serious right now?

"Yes, I am. I won't have you going to the staff room anymore" he adds

"What would the others say?" Hazel asked

"I'll call a meeting right now and announce who the new lady of the house is," he said

Hazel stared at him in shock, he can't do that!

Everyone would surely have her head if he does!!
