HEMELION'S RECORDS

Immediately after the name of Hemelion was mentioned in the article, Emma got more interested in finishing what she had started and she took out the wooden container from her handbag when her eyes noticed a photograph at the bottom displaying some of the relics found at the excavation site as well as the picture of three researchers who found them but she didn't open it and decided on reading the complete information of the article.

She went ahead and adjusted herself on the seat before taking out a bottle of water from her handbag as well. As soon as she got the bottle of water from the handbag, she wrench the lid off with her fingers and took a sip to savor the refreshing taste of the water dribbling down her throat down to the gullet region. Then she swallowed a whole lot of water into her stomach through her oesophagus. After she had quenched her thirst with the bottle of water, she continued from where she had left off and resumed her silent reading without any delay despite feeling a bit hot in the library for she had spent a lot of time oblivious to actual time she planned on ending her study and leave the library center.

".......This fifth emperor was nothing like his predecessors who championed justice in their administration and dealt fairly with matters in court concerning the artisans as well as the masses that were of the lower class though much higher than the slaves captured from cities that fell to their swords during warfare but below the nobles who were of the Tsar class, enjoyed much of the privileges as statesmen in the society and had more chances to hold provincial offices in the empire. Under his reign as emperor according to oral tradition and folklores passed down to the folks who mentioned a lot of how he handled matters relating to his people to the group of researchers who met them, the growth of the empire was impeded before crumbling and soon disintegrated into other nations apart from the indies, which was crippling the empire internally at that time partly because of internal intrigues and strife worsened rapidly amongst retainers including provincial governors especially warlords that held too much powers almost equivalent to the king than the previous reign and were reluctant to obey the authority of the king but this factor was a far cry to what was actually responsible for the final fall of the empire resulting in the extinction of most of their rich culture notably the marriage custom of the people which entails the certain rules that must be done to be considered as the dowry like other cultures before the bride can be married off to the abode of the betrothed man, for example, the groom may be told by the father of the woman he wants to marry to pillage the caves for some certain precious gems and to be done within a fixed period of time deemed by the girls family while some were told to display strength of holding up certain amounts of hillstones much bigger and heavier than the ones lying around the edges of the caves where majority of the people dwelt.

As emperor having emerged from a weaker clan like his father did, he wasn't taken seriously by most of the old statesmen that had a lot of influence in court even before the reign of his father till he came to the throne and were his warring enemies throughout his reign one which would be the cause of a bitter conflict between him and his ministers especially those in the four councils called the Zulti council of chiefs representing the twenty five clans that made up the kingdom as well as a bitter power tussle between the king and the officials. According to scholars of thought, the officials often seek the voice of the chief priestess who possibly had taken advantage of the dissatisfaction of the officials to gain their trust and loyalty in fierce opposition against the throne. With a lot of things going against him, the emperor resolved in certain tactics to safeguard his power which he feared might usurp from him if he did not nothing about the frequent uprising impeding his rule from attaining a more stable control over his people as their leader and resorted in using diabolical methods to achieve his goals abiding by his personal advisor's advice to use a more powerful sorcery and black magic to weaken the minds of his adversaries rather than engaging in arm conflicts with the head chieftains of the clans who were opposed to his rule as emperor which would be disadvantageous for him instead, for their warriors were somewhat stronger and powerful than the warriors loyal to King especially his palace guards.

Legends has it that he succeeded in gaining dark powers from an ancient secret cult of seven witches called Sepmulon headed by a powerful witch with a hunchback and it was against the customary laws of the empire for a King to use the dark arts of sorcerey in their ancestral land for his selfish gains but no one could enforce the laws against him for his powers were far superior to their gods especially a deity name Motesh they deemed to be supremely powerful over other minor gods they offered sacrifices to even the chief priestess failed to checkmate his powerful abilities with the insignificant power she had before Hemelion confined her to her chambers. As a result of this, many of the natives including the Tsars feared him greatly and were highly reluctant to mobilize an uprising to stop him from breaking more laws and abusing his kingship since they all saw his actions of imprisoning the priestess as a deliberate act to direct all powers to himself but he did not careless about the plebs feel and went his way to put the priestess on house arrest in her chambers where she willing remained till her death. At first, he successfully brought his foes to their knees, forcing them to submit to him using his magical dark powers to control the old officials who were the ones in strong opposition to his rule after dealing with the chief priestess. Afterwards, he became blinded with greater greed by his evil powers and forced labor upon his own enslaved kinsmen including slaves that were coerced in erecting gigantic statues and palaces for himself became a huge part of his tyranny to rule the people with an iron fist. In sustaining his evil powers, he often performed a ritual of sacrificing twelve human heads to the deity of the witches that gave him the powers to control even the least man in the kingdom and was strough enough to wreck havoc by inflicting incurable bubonic plagues in the household of the victim he so wished for that to happen with a snap of his fingers. Moreover, he could summon the natural forces like whirlwinds as though they were under his footstool and was accompanied by four demigods whom the witches granted to him for the fulfillment of his promise of sacrificing the head of twelve human beings every forth night that there must be a waning gibbous for the ritual to be accepted and complete.

Later on, after getting tired of using his people for sacrifices, he changed his targets to slaves from falling citys which made him strengthen his army for a guerrilla warfare and a conquest that made the lives of the ordinary people miserable though he achieved his plan of using the captives as sacrifices offered to keep his evil power.

Sooner than he had expected before the last year he would rule as King, his powers began to consume him more painfully than he could imagine and he quickly resort to sort out solutions with the witches to grant him eternal life which he knew would be the possible way of dwelling in the land of the living whilst retaining his evil powers to perpetrated mastery over the world and an elixir was granted to him to drink only on the last full moon of the same year he was given the elixir. His downfall came to him few days after he had consumed the elixir when the chief priestess whom he had foolishly kept locked in her own dark chambers without seeing sunlight every passing day which happened to be where the sacred orb was kept hidden from the eyes of people coming to offer sacrifices to the god, Motesh. Unknown to him since he had almost all the eunuchs as well as those working in the palace dismissed from their office except for his personal advisor and some few ministers loyal to him, the priestess, with her last breath and a drop of her blood placed an everlasting curse on him using the sacred orb to ensure that his powers are tamed whilst enduring suffering in his own bed. Little did he know that the sacred orb whom he often swore oath to before he became a tyrant with diabolical powers, had the power to bound his evil powers for eternity while he suffered pains anguished within his body and his loyal personal advisor turned against him alongside those who wanted to oust him from the throne with a successful uprising but they had him buried alive with chains wrapped against his entire flesh, that was rotting away as a result of the curse, to prevent him from escaping while his tongue was cut off since they could not kill him.
