Stealing a kiss

Lyre left the bathroom three hours later.

It has been so long since he last swam, and he missed that.

Most importantly, he missed his tail. However, he doesn't know how he can get that back. It was still confusing how he wasn't able to change despite the time he spent in the small stream.

He dried his body with the towel and wore the comfy pyjamas Rain brought out for him.

Lyre lay on the bed and rested his head on the pillow. He closed his eyes for a bit and joined his hands.

This was how he stayed for thirty or so minutes before he rose from the bed.

Try all he can, he just couldn't sleep. His mind kept on going back to what happened in the afternoon.

It was as if the kiss somehow reformatted his brain.

He walked to the door, only to stop.

"No, I can't do this." He shook his head as he walked back a bit. "I can't do this."

Despite the urge he had in him to go look for Rain, he knew it wasn't right.

"Let me go to sleep." He strode back to his bed and lay on it, only to rise after five minutes.

This time, he raced to the door and opened the door before he could change his mind.

Out of his room, he leaned on his door for a minute, to regain his breathing.

"You just have to check on him, Lyre. I will just ask why he kissed me and ran."

He told himself as he started walking towards Rain's room.

His heart was beating so loudly as he walked, and it seemed like the organ was about to leap out of his chest.

His palms were sweaty; his eyes were a bit large as he walked towards Rain's door.

"It's okay." He said to himself as he slowly opened Rain's door.

Luckily, the door didn't make a noise when he opened it.

He stepped in, and closed the door behind him, making sure to do so gently.

Lyre glanced at the bed.

Rain was soundly sleeping on the bed with no cares in the world. He didn't even know there was someone in his room as he soundly slept.

Lyre walked towards him and sat on the bed.

"Why do you always make my heart skip?" Lyre asked Rain as his eyes took in Rain's partially naked form.

He swallowed as his heart increased in beats.

"Gods."

The merman swallowed as his eyes took in Rain's hard abs. And before he knew it, he was already touching Rain's body.

"It's so hard." He blushed when he felt how sturdy and smooth Rain's body was. It made him ache to keep on touching him.

It felt so good to run his hand through Rain's chest.

"Why does your body seem different from mine?" He wondered as he glanced up at Rain, who was still sleeping.

Somehow, Rain's lips seemed more inviting. It was as if he licked on it, to make it shiny.

Lyre's eyes immediately went in that direction.

The shiny pink lips seemed to beckon to him.

"Should I kiss him?" Lyre wondered as he watched Rain's smooth mouth.

And before he could stop himself from doing what his mind asked him to do, he was already kissing Rain.

Lyre pecked Rain just like Clar did. However, instead of removing his mouth from Rain's cheeks immediately, he kept it there until he regained his sanity.

Instantly, he rose from the bed, and raced to the door, intent on leaving the room as fast as he could.

However, his path was blocked by Rain.

"Rain?" He took a step back at the sight of Rain.

Lyre turned to look at the bed Rain was lying on a few seconds ago, but instead of seeing his body on the bed, he found the bed empty.

"What? Why are you looking at the bed?" Rain took a step towards Lyre with his mouth pursed. He was trying so hard not to smile at the funny expression on Lyre's face.

"You were just—"

"Lying on the bed? I know I was." He smiled as he took a step towards Lyre, who took two steps back.

"I'm sorry. I will—"

"What were you doing to me when I was sleeping?" Rain licked his lips.

"Nothing!"

The merman shouted with his eyes closed.

"Nothing? And I felt a touch of your hand on my body." Rain circled his hand around Lyre's waist, causing him to yelp a bit.

"What's it? Don't tell me you are afraid of me?" Rain smirked.

"Please, let me go back. I want to—"

"Do you want to kiss me so badly you had to do so when I was sleeping?" Rain chuckled.

With his hand around Lyre's waist, he brought Lyre close to him.

The actions caused Lyre to place both hands on his naked chest.

Lyre swallowed at the proximity.

He felt the familiar tightening on his lower abdomen.

It has always been this way whenever he was next to Rain. And he didn't understand what it was all about.

It was all unfamiliar to the merman, who knows nothing but the things he was taught by his parents.

Most of the things he does revolve around all he was taught as he grew.

The good and the bad were the things he was taught. Yet, none of them taught him what it means to have a strange tightening in his lower body.

It only took a touch, and some words from Rain to make him momentarily forget everything about himself.

"If you want to kiss me that badly, you should have told me. You have no reason to sneak around me." Rain smiled, "but I must confess, it was fun watching you do all those things to me when you thought I was sleeping."

"You— You were awake?" Lyre blinked.

"Of course, I was. Who will sleep through all that?" Rain smirked.
