While the battle was still going on, Rain took Lyre to a safe place. He instantly changed back to his human form.

"Lyre, are you the one?" He touched Lyre's cheeks.

"I am." Lyre grinned as tears streamed down his face in a large gush. He had to bite his lower lip to prevent a sob from escaping.

"How… When?" Rain caused Lyre to look into his eyes. "I thought—"

"You used a spell on me?" Lyre chuckled. "Come on, Rain. I don't think your powers work on me, any more." Lyre grinned.

"But that's not possible. It has never failed."

"But it did." Lyre touched his cheeks. "It might be that your power recognizes me. All I did was wait for you to leave before I sneaked after you. It was thrilling!"

"How did you get here?" Rain asked once more. "Did Agu know?" He clenched his jaws.

"Yes, he did."

"That was why he was acting strange." Rain clenched his left hand. "I will show you what happens to those who—"
