I'm taking you to the hospital

"Are you certain you don't want me to take you to the hospital?" Their mother asked for the second time as she rubbed on Lyre's back.

"I'm okay, mom. I just feel a bit below the weather." Lyre frowned.

He was aware that as a merman, he wasn't supposed to get sick; however, he believed it was the amount of time he spent in the human world that caused the change in his body.

Their mother didn't look convinced. "Since you came to the house, we haven't taken you for a checkup. Let's—"

Lyre rushed to the bathroom and expelled everything in his stomach.

"Lyre, you are not okay." Their mother followed him, concerned about her son's health.

"Mom, I'm good." Lyre forced a smile. "You have no cause to be distressed about me. I'm okay."

"No, you are not." She rested a hand on her waist. "You are following me to the hospital and that's—"

Lyre raced upstairs to the room. He entered his room and locked the door behind him.
