Confused

"What are we going to do now?" Rain asked after a long hour of uncontrollable outbursts.

The mistress shrugged. "We simply wait. Probably, he might not die in this life like the others, though, there is a tremendous possibility that he might." She touched Lyre's hand. "I became the worst mother, to save him, but it seems I can't fight against fate. One way or the other, it will still return to pinch us on the butt."

Rain frowned at her. "Don't you know anything that might help him?" He touched Lyre's body, which was still wavering between warm and cold.

"No." The mistress shook her head. "Do you think I wouldn't have helped him had I known what I can cure him with?" She frowned.

Veryn watched the scene in front of him. He wanted so badly to be the one sitting beside Lyre; however, he kept his distance, knowing his actions might raise brows.
