Just drop the stone in the fire. You have to do it. This is your future. Do it! Yami Koshohiri thought as she stared at the fire that was about to go out. Come on, don't be such a scaredy cat! You gotta drop the stone in! No matter what! Yami didn't care whether or not she would be a Dark student or a Light student, but for some reason, she couldn't just drop the stone in to reveal her fate. There was something holding her back, something she didn't want to know.
People crowded around as they had done for several other girls and boys. They had dropped their stones in and got what they got. Yuki Sahara had become a Light student earlier, Jae Honira had become a Light student as well, and the others? Well, Yami didn't know. She just couldn't do it.
After a few minutes, the fire started to die down. The crowd became eerily quiet and they looked rather disappointed. She felt someone shove her hand into the fire and drop the stone right before the fire went out. The crowd cheered and Yami quickly blowed off the hot burning on her hand. She stared at the fire with great intensity, hoping she would become a Light student, her opinions changed quickly. She no longer didn't care what she was going to be, she only wished to be with her friends. She wanted to be like them.
After at least thirty seconds, the fire started to take shape. It rose up into the air and spun around, capturing Yami's attention. Everyone intently stared at it, hoping to catch what Yami was going to be. Light or Dark?
The fire transformed into a lovely flower, and Yami relieved a sigh. She was going to be a Light student! The crowd cheered around her and hugged her very well. She smiled widely and knew the Light Academia was her place now, with everyone she knew and loved. There was no need to worry, she would be a Light user and become a good woman and help the world in need! Exactly what Yami wanted to do!
"Good job, Yamisora," Her mother said, kissing the top of her head. She seemed to be crying emotionally, not because she was sad, but because her daughter was going to be a lovely human being. Not a monster as the Dark school would teach of. The flower was still in Yami's hand, but she did not think of it, so she let go to hug her mother. With this, the flower fell down. "Good luck. I have your bags ready. Now, you must make it to the portal. And quick." Yami nodded and hugged her mother for the last time for a while. Who knows how long it would be until she would see her mother in-person again?
Her father would be waiting for her at the portal with all her things. Her friends, like Jae and Yuki, would be there. They would be friends for a lifetime, because they would all be Light students just as they were supposed to be. Become a Dark human, however, would result in disaster and ends of friendships. Luckily, Yami was with her friends and okay!
The portal was located not too far away, so Yami set off as quickly as possible. Everyone left the dark room that held the flower that Yami had forgotten. It's beautiful purple-colored petals ignited into fire, and transformed into a skull that lay on the ground. The fire had not yet decided completely, but Yami had just left, so she could not know! She was supposed to be in the Dark school, and the SOA (Secret Operative Agency) would find out soon enough. Oh no, her future was not in the bright clouds. It was only in the darkness.
"You say a girl named Yamisora Koshohiri was the last person to be judged?" Ema Inato, the leader of the SOA, questioned her workers. They all nodded and Ema nodded back. "It had transformed into a flower first, correct?" The workers nodded again, attempting to be quiet. "But then it transformed into a skull, yes?" The workers nodded again.
Ema picked up the skull and inspected it. The skull was pure white and there were slight cracks around the jaw. Ema sighed and placed the skull into her bag she had with her, and made a conclusion.
"We will make our way to the Light Academia. When we get there, it will probably be around the opening ceremonies time. We will inform the Headmistress, Ophelia, that the girl Yamisora is no Light student. We will bring her to the Dark Academia and shove her in, she cannot escape," Ema explained. The agents nodded except one.
"I feel bad for her, though. Finding out she was in the Light Academia probably made her so happy inside. If we just go there and tell her that she suddenly has to go to the Dark Academia, she might burst in tears. I know her type, they aren't very tough and will sob at any second if they hear this type of news." Kishimaro, one of the lower-class agents, said sympathetically. Ema scoffed.
"And when did you think that you were the leader? You follow my orders, mine only. Don't argue, Kishi." Ema said, folding her arms. Kishimaro nodded shakily, but knew what they were doing was not right, whether or not this "Yamisora" was a Dark or a Light.
"Fine," He said, still feeling terrible inside. There was no way Ema was this heartless. She should care for the girl, not the agency. However, he knew bosses had to be this way and there was no way he could stop it.
"Alright, get in!" Yami's dad kissed her on the head and let the friends jump into the portal. Yami was the last to jump in, and she stared at her father intently before mouthing the word, farewell, and jumping in.
Inside the portal, everything felt quite heavy and the bag she was holding became ten times more heavier. Her hair felt like it weighed way too much and she felt like she was being pulled apart. It was not her first experience in a portal, but it didn't feel very good and it was rather uncomfortable. Jae and Yuki seemed to be quite surprised, as they had never, let alone, been in a single portal in their lives. Yami could see the end of the portal, though it was far away and it was only a small dot.
The portal turned bright blue, as this was the final stage of the portal. The time where they would actually be dropping in the the Academy. Yami braced herself and grinned as she suddenly felt wind and everything was blue and green around her. She opened her eyes and stared at the most largest, majestic academy she had ever seen in her life. The walls were pure white, modern windows were all around it. She could see plush bedrooms and a huge courtyard. And that wasn't even half of it.
Flowers surrounded the grass. It smelled sweet and beautiful, and Yami never wanted to leave. She stood up, suddenly on the grass, and smiled brightly. She looked at her clothes. They had transformed into a nice, sleek, white suit and her purple hair had been put magically into a bun. She thanked the school for not being all careless and because she was a girl, making her wear a dress. It was a kind thing, and Yami suddenly loved this school more than anything in her world. And there was a lot of things in her world.
Beside her, Jae and Yuki dusted off their normal clothes. In a few seconds, they had turned into uniforms like Yami's, but Yuki's had turned into a white dress covered in bows of all sorts. This was because Yuki loved dressed adoringly (she would do anything for one) and she looked at it with happiness. "It's so pretty!" Yuki said, squealing. Yami laughed. Classic Yuki.
Jae looked down at his suit, similar to Yami's but a bit more masculine. He looked up and smiled and Yami, and Yami smiled back. "You excited?" He asked to both of them.
"Of course I am!" Yami said, and grinned her classic grin. Yuki nodded and inspected her dress in wonder. Jae nodded and they picked up their things to go inside for the opening ceremony. "Ready as ever." Yami whispered and they walked inside of the school curiously.
As soon as they stepped inside, small sparkles filled the room and their bags were lifted from their arms to their rooms, most likely. They were inside of a huge cathedral, with a chandelier hanging over the room majestically. Hundreds of students sat in couches the color of a lily flower. They turned to look at Yami, Jae, and Yuki. They looked back and the three stepped in on a couch that had no one on it. Yuki squealed and they waited for the leader of the academy to come in soon.
After a few minutes, a beautiful woman stepped in. She had pure, white hair and her eyes glowed white. Her dress was angelic blue, and the sparkle things Yami had seen before crowded around her. The woman smiled a beautiful smile, and Yami admitted she was the prettiest woman she had ever seen in her life.
"Hello," She said, her voice echoing through the cathedral-like room. The whole academy smiled back and waved. The woman laughed. "It is so good to see you all, to meet you. My name is Ophelia, and I am the Headmistress of the Light Academia," She explained. Everyone stared at the woman in awe. Yami was certainly surprised this woman was the Head of the Academy. "We will begin with a speech," Yami braced herself for a long speech. This would certainly take some time.
However, just before Ophelia would begin the speech, men and women in black suits slammed open the door and walked in casually. Ophelia looked surprised, and Yami gasped. It was the SOA! What were they doing there?
"We have come to bring, erm…" One of the agents said, trailing off. Yami's throat and ankles tightened. Who were they bringing? And to where? This was peculiar. An agent whispered into the speaking agent's ear and he nodded. "We have come to bring Yamisora Koshohiri to the Dark Academia. There was a misunderstanding with the fire and it turns out she is meant for the Dark, not the light,"
Yami felt like she was falling into oblivion. She felt weightless. She couldn't hear anything, couldn't see anything. This was not going well. Many thoughts occurred in her mind, but not one could she assess completely. She was meant for the Light. She was no Dark. She was supposed to be with the Light. Just as her senses came back, the last thing she saw was an agent shooting a sleep dart at her and Jae and Yuki staring at her worriedly, the world tilting.
