Henry lay on the ground amongst the unmoving bodies, coughs shaking his whole body. His breathing was erratic and he felt like he was going to pass out at any moment.
He had to focus hard or he was going to succumb to the darkness that was surrounding his eyesight. He blinked and shook his head to will away the feeling.
The apprentice knew that he wasn't calm enough to take deep breaths and he had to will himself to take in air slowly, hoping it would slow his heart. It felt like his body was panicking, trying to take in as much air as possible before it was taken away again. Never had he thought someone could take fresh air for granted but he now knew the truth. He still coughed as he tried to get to a point where he could sit up and assess the situation.
