Despite the rain, the knights managed to run into two separate groups of goblins on the way back to the lower ground and ancient castle.
Henry felt like a mother protecting her child from harm in the way he wielded his sword with one hand and cradled the stone with the other. It was amusing to him after the fact but, he was always irritated and how unnecessarily inconvenient it was making many different aspects of the journey.
Half-jokingly, he wondered if he should have thrown the stone into the lava as it had commanded. It hadn't said anything else since then so he figured he was doing the right thing.
A while after they had left the mountain, the commander noticed that they were being watched once again. Just like before, he kept it to himself. It was clear they were keeping tabs on them but he found it interesting they were unwilling to follow them up the mountain.
