The weather had mostly cleared up by the time the sun had risen and they were on their way.
Henry woke up with new-found determination after the commander's reminder from the night before and drinking enough ale to make him sleep like a stone all night. He felt lighter overall and there was definitely a pep in his step that had been absent for at least the past week.
The commander had been observing Henry's attitude throughout their journey through Polona. One thing that remained true now and had been true when they were fighting a war in Chemois was the way Henry took things so incredibly hard.
It wasn't that he was overly emotional or a burden when things weren't going his way. It was that there was a certain light that dimmed whenever something negative happened. It caused those around Henry to worry about him. He had burrowed his way into the steely hearts of many against their will and it was noticeable when his spark wasn't there.
