Late summer sun leaked into the window and filtered through a sheer curtain that caused a glow to emanate throughout the room Henry slept in.
It was only when the sun had slowly moved o where it was directly on his face that he even stirred after the amount of ale he had consumed the night before. He and the commander both told themselves they were going to spend the entire next day doing mundane tasks and preparing for the month-long journey ahead.
However, Henry knew the commander better than that. If the sun was this high already, he knew right away that the commander was probably already awake and up to something. The man couldn't sit still and relax for anything in the world.
After he had admitted to so much the day before, Henry wondered if the commander was always busy so he never had to spare himself a thought. It was like he was avoiding being in a situation where he was alone with his thoughts.
