Chapter 38: It seems like a Storm is coming

Kashigawa was surprised about what Sashime had said Even though he and the monks have a very good relationship it doesn't mean he had to drag them into war,

monks are known for their powerful martial arts but never used them for violence even though some of them slayed giant beasts to test their training doesn't mean they liked fighting,

And also monks are known for being benevolent as long as the beasts don't destroy anything or get near their temple or deemed to be a threat, they would not attack them and also they do not partake in war unless it involves demons,

And they live high above the mountains making it difficult for anyone or anything to cause trouble for them,

"hmm... they could be of help but I don't think we need to get them involved especially when that giant didn't do anything to them" Kashigawa said,

"and also that giant seems to be not interested in any structures nor have desire to destroy them it seems to be obsessed with fighting so Even if we frame that giant you do know even the oldest temple of the Shaolin has its own guardian which we can defeat, but they cannot be killed and will send a message on the other temples about breaking the the relationship between us and them" Kashigawa continued,

Sashime hearing this became silent and started to rethink her plan when suddenly they heard a voice,

"Need not worry my friend we'll join you" says an elderly monk holding a golden staff with eight bells hanging on it,

"Abbot Zen how long have you been there?" Kashigawa asked,

"since the beginning but need not worry I just happen to pass by your borders and decided to visit you until I heard both your conversation" replied the abbot,

"Forgive us abbot we didn't mean to or even attempted to do so, my wife just suggested this to ask for your people's aid" Kashigawa immediately replied,

"need not worry my friend Buddha forgives" replied the abbot,

Even though Kashigawa and Sashime can fight toe to toe against the abbot individually they would want to avoid that a second time, Kashigawa doesn't want to fight the abbot a second time not because he feared that the relationship between them would crumble,

it's because he deeply respect the Shaolin and their martial arts.

"Tell me Lord Kashigawa why do you want our aid" asked the abbot.

"it's... because of our friend he and his people were slaughtered by a giant and now one of my subordinate and his 500 men are now dead" Kashigawa answered,

"hmm... I see so it's for revenge, I understand but revenge is a bad thing that can happen to a man making them go crazy to the point they no longer care about themselves until they get what they want" says the abbot,

"I know that taking revenge is not a good thing but tell me abbot what if your most precious desciple which you considered a family, dies by the hand of a powerful beast what would you?" Kashigawa asked,

The abbot became silent for a while and stroked his beard showing a complicated expression,

"hmm... that's a different story if my precious disciple dies I would also go as far as to defy our teaching just to get revenge" says the abbot,

"but... If he died doing his duty I would rather be proud but also saddened since he was my family," he continued,

Kashigawa and Sashime also have the same thought earlier when suddenly they heard the abbot asked,

"so tell me what kind of giant is it to make you go as far as to mobilize your entire manpower to hunt it down?"

"It's something we've never seen before and also possess a high level of intelligence, there might be some Giants who wear beast skins as armor but we've never heard of any giant wearing complete iron armor, of course we never seen it and also we've only gotten the information from my friend's message before he died" Kashigawa replied,

Hearing this the abbot stroked his beard once again,

"a giant with a complete armor made of iron..."

the abbot said in a low pitch voice almost whispering,

"abbot, is there something wrong?" Kashigawa asked,

"No, nothing's wrong I just remembered something from the past" the abbot replied,

"is it about the men in bizarre armors that we fought 4 years ago?" Sashime asked,

Hearing this both Kashigawa and Abbot zen looked at Sashime with a surprised look,

"No! those Unclean bastards don't have the ability to control a giant much less give it an armor and teach it how to wield a weapon properly, even if they did it would only get slightly stronger than most giants!" The abbot said angrily,

"indeed" Kashigawa said nodding his head in agreement,

"but... what if that's the case seeing as we've never heard any news from them, even after our battle they might have captured some Beasts and other monsters during the 4 years of laying dormant and that giant might be one of their spawns which they released" Says Sashime,

Both the trio became silent once again when suddenly they heard footsteps,

"My Lord, I have come to deliver a letter" says the man While holding a lightning falcon,

"Again? you may enter" says Kashigawa confused as to why there's another letter,

The man gave it to him and left, Kashigawa read the letter and destroyed the letter both Sashime and the abbot understood it aswell since the letter that Giyamoto sent arrived after the death of Kabuki's death,

Despite that Kashigawa instantly calmed himself down and used his [memory search] to the bird and saw that it was attacked by a group of men in armor along with the thunder hawk which is the falcon's arch Nemesis,

After reading it's memory Kashigawa gave a heavy sigh,

"What is it? what did you see?" Sashime asked,

"nothing to worry about, but it seems that 'they' have started to move" Kashigawa replied,

"So... it seems like a storm is coming" says the abbot while stroking his beard.
