Javier had the queen by his side, at a party full of strangers. His eyes spotted a few people that he was familiar with from previous royal parties. No one he would care to hold a conversation with.

Of the people in the room, his eyes constantly scanned the door for the one person his heart was racing for. Since Adnan left Archidius, he hadn't seen the boy.

It worried him. Soren was still holding on to the knife that can kill Adnan. The last place Javier found safe for Adnan was out of his sight.

It was important to keep his love interest safe. Keeping Adnan safe meant that his heart could be at peace.

Javier exhaled deeply. It was going to be a long night. Entertaining the ton of Arendar the whole night wasn't how he preferred to spend his night.
