Just as the zombie was about to reach out towards Brick or to push itself back up from the ground, there was a strange invisible force that had blocked its path that had formed close to its chest area.

One hand of Brick had pointed towards the chest area to form the barrier that had helped to trap the zombie in place in between it and the ground, that obstruction had prevented it from moving that much and opened its head up for the knife that pierced through it.

It became a much easier target for Brick once it had been blocked from getting up which had shown how quickly Brick had come to using his powers in inventive ways.

If his barriers later had the ability to change their shape and move around under his manipulation then it would be a great use of his ability but the stationary and solid state that it had was just as useful.

Brick walked over towards the door that led to the bathroom then pushed open the door before backing away.

A single small barrier had been placed in the middle of the entrance to the door and a zombie had moved towards the open door as quickly as it could move.

There was a large bite wound on its neck and it had some blood and flesh hanging from its mouth.

Its body had hit the barrier before bouncing off it towards an angle which sent it flying towards the wall inside the bathroom. "Hrrr."

Another smaller figure had crawled below the barrier that had been set up then crawled closer to Brick which caused him to let out a sigh.

It was the typical scene that was displayed before him of how they had managed to all turn into a zombie and died.

The cleaner inside the room would have been the main cause for the spread of the virus as she had turned inside of the room.

Perhaps she had gained entry through the use of her own keys or due to the kindness of the people staying in the room but things quickly took a turn for the worse once she had become a zombie and attacked them.

The severe lack of information on the virus had caused the man inside of the bathroom to hide away with his child which had led to him eating his child enough to leave them in a state where they could no longer walk as a zombie.

If there was another person that was a part of their family then Brick had yet to see them and he would not wait around to be caught off guard by the rising numbers of them.

He moved quickly and stamped down onto the back of the head of the smaller zombie while he had held out his hand to block the advances of the zombie that had climbed back up to its feet.

The face of the larger zombie had looked like its face was pressed up against a glass screen and its arms were reaching towards Brick where it had not been blocked.

Its head started to bend back the more force that had been applied by it pushing forward so an idea had come to mind.

Brick held up his hand in front of the current barrier and the new barrier had taken its place in front of the open mouth of the zombie. "Eat this!"

The zombie staggered forward and aimed to bite his hand but something strange had happened as it had been further obstructed.

Brick was unable to change the shape of the barriers he created but he was able to adjust the angle in which it was created.

A small square shaped barrier was still very thin and when it was put at another angle, it was less effective in blocking the attacks but had another use.

The smaller and thinner barrier was not overly wide or long so it was able to enter the mouth of the zombie that had lunged towards Brick.

The more force that was applied by the zombie, the more internal damage the edge of the barrier would be able to do to the zombie before it had finally reached its limits.

It was like Brick had fit a small glass screen into its mouth and held it in place while the zombie had continued to go after its target so it had started to harm itself.

The insides of its mouth and throat were being cut up the more force that was applied before a knife had entered its eye which had been an easy target for Brick when it was in its current state.

If it had been a little more intelligent then it may have been able to figure out that it was possible to simple move backwards with its mouth open to remove the barrier from its mouth but it had instead chosen to keep moving towards its prey as it kept biting against the barrier which had done very little to weaken it before Brick had ended its life.

Brick continued to survey many rooms as he practiced the use of his forcefield power and had started to find some more survivors which he had saved along the way.

Once the floor had been fully cleared and he had properly warmed himself up, Brick cleaned himself off a little and sat down to replenish his used up energy. "Not bad.. if this keeps going well then I may just be able to work towards the first rank much sooner than others."

He may have awakened later than others but the mastery over his ability had been much higher than others due to his own knowledge and the experience of the bodies previous owner.

The continuous training along with using the crystal nucleus water had further increased his current energy reserves so he could use his powers longer than others and there should be a small difference in how powerful his ability was compared to others.

If his ability was defence based then it should have started out as a small and weak defence that could stand up to several weak human and zombie attacks but any stronger force like the use of weapons would be able to break past it much sooner.

As the powers increased at each rank, their overall range of use and power increased depending on what type of power of power it was so his would how much the barriers could endure along with the size of the barriers.

Brick started to clear out the floor that he was on before placing many things on the stairs and upper floors to provide a large blockade.

Once he was done with that, he had walked down the stairs with several of the previous battery powered devices and placed them in several key points.

The door on the ground floor had been slowly opened a tiny amount before a door stopper was placed there to prevent it from closing then Brick had started to turn on the music of those further up until he had reached the lower floors to do the same.

Once he had started to see that the door was pushed open, Brick no longer attempted to put on anymore and ran up the stairs before climbing through the many obstructions to reach the higher floors.

He looked down the flights of stairs and saw a massive amount of zombies that had started to gather at the bottom of the stairs, each of them had pushed their way up the stairs as they had went as far as climbing over the bodies of the others.

Any zombies that were standing in the main room of the hotel or were close enough on the street had ran towards the open door and entered to pursue the source of the noises before being led onto the floors that Brick had cleared out.

Brick and another person were both standing above watching the large crowd of zombies entering the other floors and being filtered throughout each of them before being led to the rooms to meet their demise.

Tanya turned towards Brick who had been calmly appreciating his handy work and whispered. "Is this really so effective? Will this help in our escape?"

Brick nodded before answering in a hushed tone of voice. "This should help clear out a lot of their numbers but this is just the beginning. Those that come with us will need a strong stomach and will not do anything stupid otherwise I will not bring them along."

Tanya knit her brows. "So you are just going to leave them behind?"

Brick responded while shrugging his shoulders. "I cannot save everyone and larger numbers will only increase the risk. It would have been better to leave in a small number or to just bring you with me alone but how we proceed is up to what you have decided."
