My hand silenced his mouth. He tried to fight, but I exerted so much strength that he gasped. “Stop struggling, it's useless," I whispered in his ear.

Our bodies pressed together had the same effect as the first time we met. He froze when I rubbed myself against him. I affected him as much as he affected me. This was good news for me. I was not in this predicament alone. I convinced myself.

“What brings the Alpha King Lycus to my territory?” I asked. “I think it's very bold of you to enter the coven like that.”

From a distance, I could hear the wind blowing. I wondered if I had left the bedroom window open throughout the night. My body felt heavy and then I picked up the sound of the river.


I opened my eyes and my throat burned and suddenly a violent coughing fit ripped through me, making me tremble from head to toe and as I lay in the snow. When I lifted my body, the coughing increased, and I gagged. Blood splattered on my clothes, staining them a bright red. Once I got a hold of my senses, I looked around and I was deep in the enchanted forest. How the hell did I get here?


I dragged myself up and brushed the snow off as best as I could. I swallowed around the lump in my throat and winced at the dryness. My fangs itched and my mouth felt dry. I had blacked out and ended up here. My mind cleared and I knew. Yesterday when I fed on my mate I took too much.  My body went through changes overnight.
