Coming home to a celebration was not the way that Zalena had expected to be greeted, and her wolf had made it obvious within her that it wasn’t exactly appreciated either. But with the elders standing before her and waiting to listen to what she had to say, she was confident that she would have the support of them. Or at least she hoped so, she had not ever defied them, not in the way she was going to. She had been quiet when they had selected her for Andros and had dealt with him for years. But now? Things had changed. She could hear the pack members outside talking, and for a moment she had nearly faltered in her resolve as she heard their laughter.
“Thank you for providing me with some time to get away… It gave me the opportunity to… Think… I had the time to enjoy things that I wouldn’t ordinarily get to enjoy.” The thoughts of the iced frappuccino came to mind as she spoke. The elders merely smiled at her patiently and nodded in response to her thanks.
