A VISITOR 1

I got off the bed and strolled to seat by the window as I stared at the night sky. I needed air, especially after what had happened earlier.

It was nearly midnight, and the night sky was picturesque. A black to navy gradient was the backdrop for a full moon, the night sky so clear you could almost see every crater.

The moon, a glowing yellowy white, soared large, surrounded by an ethereal glow. Millions of stars were sprinkled behind it, a few large ones but mostly a multitude of little white pinpricks.

The night seemed peaceful but the feeling of fear and uncertainty filled me.

Fear of the future ahead of me.

I sighed, staring back at the man sleeping on the bed who was fast asleep. I wondered if he loved the moon as I did. If he loved the things I liked, what our dubious future would be like together?
