Another vision

And just as she had said that, they had both suddenly felt a very powerful wave of energy and they had then rushed into the living room to see if the children were okay.

When he saw that Steven didn't seem to be in control of his feelings he looked at his wife for help and Carol then asked Cassy who still had her head burried on Steven's chest, "Cassy, sweety, you're not hurt, are you?"

Cassy felt perfectly fine, it was just that she wanted to enjoy this moment a little longer... When Steven had taken her hand to check for injuries, she had also felt a tingling sensation run up her arm, and she had felt her heart racing when he had suddenly taken her in his arms and started stroking her hair.

It was the first time a boy had hugged her and the most amazing thing is that it had happened after Steven saw her use her powers.

Unlike the others, he didn't seem to have been afraid or thinking she was a freak, which was a real relief for her.

And so she had finally let go and put her head against his chest to fully enjoy this unexpected embrace.

At that moment, she had heard Steven's heartbeat which also seemed to be beating much faster than normal and she had felt reassured by his embrace as if nothing could hurt her from now on.

Not only had she found the strongest Warrior, but Steven was her soulmate, at least that was what she was feeling deep down in her heart.

When she had suddenly heard Carol's voice, she had blushed because it had immediately brought her back to reality, and when she had wanted to pull away from Steven's arms, she wasn't able to because he was still holding her tightly.

Since she didn't know what to do, she said to Carol, feeling a little embarrassed, "I'm fine... I guess you both felt that wave of energy.

It was coming from the seal on his wrist, when I touched it, it threw me across the room, it was probably a self-defense mechanism, I should have been more careful."

Carol frowned and asked her, "What do you mean it threw you across the room?"

Adrian then said to her, "Mom, that's really what happened. Cassy was just there and she got thrown against the wall behind them.

But she conjured up a fire shield that protected her and after that she made it disappear with only a wave of her hand as if nothing had happened... So, are you going to end up explaining to me what's going on here."

Carol looked at her son and motioned for him to remain calm and she turned her attention back to Steven who didn't seem to want to let go of Cassy and still had those golden circles around his pupils.

She then asked Cassy, "Cassy, why is Steven acting like that, did something happen?"

Cassy then told her honestly, "When I touched the seal, I had to reduce his power because the System after that recognized him as the strongest Warrior... but that's not why he's acting like that."

Cassy took a deep breath and told him, "I think he's my soul mate, everything you told me about soul mates is happening.

That strong attraction, the quickened heartbeat, the tingling sensation where he touches me..."

Carol and Glen then looked at each other and they felt a little helpless by the importance of the task that had just been entrusted to them.

Now they were sure that not only was Cassy the Divine Mage but that Steven, whom they considered their son, was the strongest Warrior... The one and only Golden Dragon.

And they really didn't expect Cassy and Steven to be soulmates.

Carol then said to him as their priority was to get Steven to come to his senses, "I know this must seem strange to you Cassy, but you should try to reassure Steven and make him understand that you are okay, so he will let you go.

Dragons are very possessive and protective, you're going to have to be very patient with him."

Cassy indeed didn't quite understand why Steven was reacting this way, he had looked at her and seen that she was fine, but just like her, this strange bond between them must have amplified his feelings.

She ended up putting her hand on his cheek to get his attention and after he put one of his hands on hers, he lowered his head and looked into her eyes with his beautiful amethyst eyes and golden circles that were still around his pupils, and at this very moment she had a vision similar to the ones she already had but this time it was more precise.

She saw a battlefield under a heavy rain and as the fighting continued to rage, her vision focused on a specific location as if she had zoomed in on a photo with her camera, and it was then that she saw herself holding Steven's seemingly lifeless body.

And as she felt her heart fill with despair and helplessness seeing Steven in this state, she saw her eyes and hair turn silver at once and as she began to scream with rage, a flash of white light coming from all over her body swept across the battlefield and the vision stopped.

When she came back to reality, her head was hurting like hell and she started moaning in pain.

She then heard Steven's voice calling her softly and strangely enough just hearing the sound of his voice seemed to ease the pain a little.

And when she managed to open her eyes again, she realized that she was lying on the couch and that everyone was looking at her with concern.

When she met Carol's gaze she held out her hand to her and she said as tears began to roll down her cheeks, "Carol, I want to see my Mom... I'm so scared, so scared."
