The Marriage That Was Left Hanging

The atmosphere in the living room was quiet. None of them uttered a word. Just now Blake never thought he would get scolded the moment he put her down. He never had any other intention other than bringing her to sleep at the more comfortable place but she nagged at him like he had something planned on bringing her here.

"So…can I start?" Marissa said with her eyes narrowing.

'Am I supposed to feel intimidated by that stare?' Blake pursed his lips, to make sure he didn't smile. She was supposed to look mad but she looked crazily cute frowning at him. He had been holding himself from hugging her the moment his eyes landed on her, he prayed that he wouldn't cross the line until she gave him permission.

"I said…can I start?" Marissa was annoyed when she needed to repeat her question.

"Oh sure sure…" He bit his lips after he answered. It felt so awkward and distant.
