Your Life, Your Choice

"I'll stand right in front of the door, okay?" Blake stood up. He didn't want to leave, but Marissa insisted.

"Okay." Marissa smiled with her eyes, trying to act like she was feeling okay, even though her heart was currently pounding wildly.

Zelda's eyes followed the closed door, and her expression slightly changed. "How are you feeling now?"

Marissa looked at Zelda upon hearing her question. "I'm still recovering."

"I don't know what else I can do except apologise to you," Zelda said, her eyes starting to fill with tears.

The room fell silent as Marissa chose not to respond to Zelda.

"I truly regret everything. I promise I'll change. I never intended to harm you. It was just the pressure and depression from my life that caused me to act recklessly," Zelda tried to explain her perspective.

Once again, Zelda's words were met with silence from Marissa, who just stared blankly at her with her mouth tightly sealed.
