The Truth

"It is what it is," Ruby replied to Blake's question.

"No, grandma, please explain," Blake's voice was urgent.

"Come back home, Marissa is worried about you. I will explain everything," Ruby said. Everyone was worried when they learned that Blake had rushed out of the office after Margaret and Rowan had visited him.

Blake ended the call and stared once again at William's grave. "I will come visit more often, Dad," he whispered before standing up and making his way back to the car.

During the drive, he couldn't stop thinking about what his grandmother had said. He hoped that it would provide some answers as he couldn't bear the weight of his confusion and heartbreak any longer.

Marissa came running when she saw Blake's face entering the house. "Have you eaten?"

Blake smiled looking at her concerned eyes. Shaking his head, he said, "later."

"Let's eat first." Marissa held his hand and dragged him to the dining table.
