Misunderstanding

The next day Samantha got ready and arrived for the first class. She was in such a good mood that Marian was surprised. The discussion among the classmate continued when Jonathan entered the class. "Look how happy our class representative is after he found love," a classmate said, his voice loud enough for a few people in the class to hear. "Of course, Whitney is such a beauty. Any man would be happy," his friend replied. Hearing this, Jonathan did not bother to deny the relationship.

If he did, it would only make people believe the rumour more. Moreover, he had such intentions. When Samantha saw that he did not argue and tactically accepted the words, she was so angry that she felt like beating up someone.

Whitney arrived a few minutes before class. Just like yesterday, Jonathan had kept a seat next to him. Many girls in the class were not happy to see this. The boys did not care. They even whistled and joked around with Jonathan.

The guy from yesterday frowned. Whitney could tell that something was different. As she listened to the side talks, she discovered they thought she was dating Jonathan. When she heard this, she looked at Jonathan. He was indeed handsome, not bad for a boyfriend.

Whitney immediately shook her head. She knew that she could not afford a boyfriend, given the direction her life was headed.

The more Samantha heard the discussion, the more she was unhappy. She was not the only one feeling this way; Randy, who had helped her get her part-time Job, was also angry when he saw that Whitney did not clear the misunderstanding. He had been waiting for them to graduate so he could tell her his feelings. "How could she go back on her words," he muttered under his breath

"Did you say something?" The girl seated next to him asks.

"No," Randy shook his head, a bit embarrassed. Fortunately, the lecturer walked into the classroom. The class lasted for Two hours. Once the class was over, many students began to leave, but Samantha walked straight to Whitney and Jonathan.

"Hello," Samantha put on a friendly smile. Jonathan was not happy to see her. She had been trying to get close to him since he learned about his family background. He knew that she did not really like him but his family background and money. After all, it was only after they met at a social gathering that she started putting so much effort

A few girls in class also liked him, but they were not as desperate as she was. Whitney also had a frown on her face. She knew that Samantha was never to take the initiative to greet others.

She always put on air like she owes the entire world. When Samantha saw they were not welcoming, she wanted to leave, but she remembered why she had taken the initiative to look for them and swallowed her anger.

"Hello," Whitney forced a smile. She did not have any fights with her before, so there was no need to be rude and ignore her greeting.

"I don't mean to be too nosy, but I heard you applied for an opening in smart cooperation. I wanted to know which position. That way, I can put good words for you. You know my father is the director of the HR department, right," Samantha said. She sounded friendly and polite, but Whitney could tell she was up to no good. Moreover, she was fluting her father's position as though he owed the company.

" Whitney, let go. If you tell her, she will only ensure that your name is removed and you don't get a chance, " Jonathan cut her off before Whitney could think of how to answer.

Samantha was shocked. She did not expect Jonathan to react this way. She had planned to offer a helping hand so that she would be able to expose her. Who knew that she would be cut off?

"you have misunderstood me," Samantha said. She put on an aggressive looked. When Whitney saw her look like that, she felt that Jonathan was too rude. You should not slap a smiling person.

"I am sorry, but I am only trying my luck. It does not matter if I get it or not," Whitney said. When Samantha heard this, she felt more confident. Whitney must have lied about applying for a job in Smart cooperation.

"Since we are classmates and I can help, why are you refusing the help?" Samantha had a smug smile. In her heart, she expected Whitney to panic since her lies were about to be exposed.

"I already said I am only trying my luck, we are not close, and if I get the job using your connections, I might implicate you in the future," Whitney said. She also began to think that Samantha was up to something. It was not that she could not get her father to throw her resume in the waste bin without coming to her. After all, as the HR director, it should be easy to find her(Whitney). 'Could she have found out about my family's situation?' Whitney panicked a bit.

When Samantha heard these reasons, she did not know what to say. Whitney had denied her help. She had expected this, after all. Whitney was lying about the job application. What she did not expect was for Jonathan to suspect that she had bad intentions.

Samantha had thought that Jonathan would encourage Whitney to take hold of the opportunity then she would call her father in the presence of Jonathan and expose her lies.

"I apologise for being nosy," Samantha decided to take a step back. She knew that if she went on to tell Jonathan what she had discovered, he would not believe her. He might even think that she was the reason Whitney was disqualified.

"Thank you for your concern," Whitney replied. She did not know how she offended the class princess, that she decided to target her.

Samantha walked away, but she was still thinking about exposing her. "Why did you bother to talk to her? Now that you have gone over, Jonathan would definitely suspect you if she does not get the job," Marian said. She did not know what Samatha was thinking when she hurried over.

Samantha panicked when she heard this. She felt that Jonathan would hate her for this, and her chances would become smaller. 'That dam slut,' she cursed in her heart. If she were not in class and was scared of Jonathan finding out, she would have condemned Whitney to her heart's content.
