The music finally came to a stop, as we both slow down, him bowing and I curtsying, everybody in the ballroom began to clap for us, I noticed my sisters were all sending me evil glares,
"my Prince, I still insist that you are making the wrong choice, I'm the better choice for you not her," Beatrice cried out loudly, dragging the prince towards herself, as the prince struggled to get her hands off his cloth, while everyone in the hall stared at her in irritation, she is the most vicious out of all my sisters, always wanting to get things forcefully or willingly.
"Beatrice, why must you make a scene in front of everyone," my dad yelled at her.
"making a scene, she just telling her Prince the truth," Queen Nora interjected, looking at her husband angrily.
"and the Prince has already made his choice, so you and your daughter should get over It," King Alfred told them annoyed at how the both of them were behaving in front of everyone, as such behavior could give a wrong impression about the royal family to the people.
"But Dad...,"
"enough, he's made his choice and there's nothing you can do about that, I'll have to advise you not to create any more scenes Beatrice," my dad told her as she cried and left the ballroom, her mother glaring at the king before joining her daughter.
"Sorry about that Prince Eric, I'm grateful you found one of my daughters worthy to be your wife," my father told him
"It's a pleasure to be a son-in-law to this kingdom," he replied, bowing low
"This is a wonderful time for both kingdoms," we heard King Edward from behind.
"Indeed it is, that's why we need to celebrate longer, to a peaceful Baneria," my dad said raising his glass of wine up as King Edward hit it slightly with his own.
"Cheers to a peaceful Endoria," King Edward replied as they both gulped down their wine.
.....
It has been a few days since the grand ball.
the people who came from Baneria were given a special court to stay in, I only knew that I was chosen by the prince but we haven't talked with each other since the grand ball nor have I seen him around, but I wasn't bothered, it didn't even feel to me like I was getting married.
I was at the field with my brother playing a throw-and-catch ball game, when a maid holding a glass of juice approached us
"Here, I brought you a glass of juice princess, you must be tired from all these games you have been playing," she said bowing low while stretching the glass of juice to me.
"she never ordered juice and I haven't seen you working in our courtyard before, why isn't Yvonne the one serving and why will you even bring only one glass of juice," Charles began questioning her, placing his arms on each of his hips and glaring at her suspiciously.
he was always suspicious about everything, when something moves or changes, when something doesn't move or change, he always manage to get others to believe him too as most of what he always suspected ended up being true.
"come on Charles you don't have to be so suspicious about everything," I told my brother, rolling my eyes at him and giving the maid a small smile.
"I'm a new maid assigned to work in your courtyard and I plead your pardon prince, as my foolishness made me forget to bring yours, I promise to bring another one for you when Princess Zara finishes her own," I wasn't a type to suspect people but her hands were shaking and she had a cracked voice while speaking to my brother.
'maybe because she is a new maid and she's just anxious as this is her first time working in the palace,' I told myself, shrugging my shoulders a bit.
"it's okay you don't have to be anxious or scared while talking to me and my brother, we are good royals," I tried to comfort her, picking the glass of juice from the tray she was holding as my brother gave me a worried look.
"come on Charles you don't have to be so suspicious about everything," I told my brother taking a sip from the glass of juice before returning it to the tray
"See," I told my brother who just rolled his eyes as we both return to playing our ball game
"oh forgive me, my princess,"
"what is it again this time," my brother snapped at her, when she interrupted our game again.
"It's just that your mother requested her presence," she stammered
"It's okay Charles, I'll be back to play the game when once I'm done seeing Mum," I assured him as he just mumbled okay inciting me to laugh at his cuteness before turning to leave with the maid.
we didn't even reach my mom's room when I began to feel dizzy, my heart beating quickly as my chest tighten, I was stumbling and missing some steps on the way.
"Are you okay my princess," the maid I was following asked.
"I don't know, I just started feeling weak all of a sudden," I inform her placing a hand on my forehead.
"We are reaching your mum's chamber soon," she inform me as I just nodded unable to say a word my vision became blurry each second, I fell to the floor unable to listen to my environment, the last thing I saw was the girl starring at me before I passed out.
....
"Have you done it," Beatrice asked the maid she had sent to poison Zara's drink.
"yes my Princess, she's in Prince Eric's room now,"
"Good, now prince Eric will see how much of a slut she is," Beatrice said giggling devilishly, "I can't wait to see how smoothly this will end, he will finally see that I was the right choice for him after all" she started grinning.
"you can leave now, I'll give you a reward later," she notified the maid, who happily left the room thanking Beatrice till she closed the door.
"You're sure this will work mum?" she asked her mother who has been sitting at the corner of the room, sipping her tea.
"of course, it will work, not only will he see her as a slut but as an ill-mannered princess unsuitable to be the queen of Baneria, when that happens, he will have no other choice but to look for another Queen, and that is where you will step in," Queen Nora explained, as the both of them began to giggle devilishly.
