A Start of Something

[Hogwarts, Hospital Wing, June 4th, 1992]

A week had passed since the unforgettable night that happened to Harry Potter. After all, meeting his supposed-to-be-dead nemesis, fully intent on killing him, isn't an everyday occurrence in his life, but it seemed that the wizarding world didn't disappoint his unluckiness so.

Ron and Hermione had already left the Hospital Wing but Harry Potter was not able to do so because of the terrible mark that affected him for some time. His mark on his forehead was still a little painful, yes, but what affected him the most was not his seemingly physical pain but the mental trauma that he had received since meeting the Dark Lord Voldemort.

Fear... for the past few weeks, that is what Harry has only felt. His friends and he were almost killed by the one who was also responsible for his parents' deaths.

"Sir, what... happened to Voldemort...? He was going to kill us, but something happened to him, and he stopped," Harry asks Dumbledore,

"That... unfortunately, I don't know the answer, young Harry..." Dumbledore answered with a defeated look,

Harry just stared in a daze; that night, he couldn't get it out of his head. In his every sleep, a nightmare always follows him—so much death.

"I don't think I've vanquished Voldemort before, sir. How could I...? It's impossible..." I said while staring blankly at the wall, Dumbledore stared at him while pondering in his thoughts,

"Your mother... was a bright witch, Harry. An astounding individual in the arts of not only magic but also history." Dumbledore began, reminiscing about the past.

"And her ultimate discovery... predates everything that I knew... she discovered about love." Dumbledore looked at Harry's eyes and noticed that they had a glint of light in them, causing him to smile.

"...Love?" Harry asked with a confused expression,

"Yes... The only thing that death can never defeat, Harry, is love. That's how she defeated Voldemort. That's how she saved you. She has so much love for you that she somehow poured it out of a spell, a spell that protected you from the Killing Curse, a spell that allowed you to live..."

With every word that Dumbledore spoke, the previous glint in Harry's eyes changed into uncountable tears that poured out of Harry's eyes. The thought of his mother sacrificing herself for him made him realize that the wizarding world is not all fairy tales and that people are still capable of evil.

Wiping the tears from his eyes, Harry looked at Dumbledore with an intensified gaze. His eyes are full of anger, and conviction. He clenched his hands as he asked,

"Tell me, Professor... Is he still alive?" His tone of voice is neutral, barely containing his anger. Dumbledore stared in a daze at Harry, who was seemingly pondering in his thoughts. A glint appeared in his bespectacled glasses as he replied,

"... Unfortunately so...dear boy..."

Harry calmed his breathing and stared in a daze, seemingly deep in thought, with a calculating gaze. Dumbledore watched all this happen with sadness and fear in his eyes. After a few minutes, Dumbledore watched Harry's emotions through his naked eye. Then suddenly, Harry looked at him with a different gaze, his previous depressed atmosphere repressed at his will.

"I see... You can leave now, Professor. I'm quite tired... Good night, sir." Harry uttered it solemnly. With those words, Dumbledore bid farewell to young Harry and turned to leave when he was abruptly stopped by Harry's voice.

"Sir...wait." Dumbledore turned his head and looked at Harry with a confused look as Harry said,

"Could you please tell Hermione and Ron that I'm fine? Madam Pomfrey forbids them from visiting me for some time, you see..." Harry said, awkwardly scratching the back of his head, embarrassed by his request.

"...Of course, Harry. I'll also talk to Healer Poppy, I'm sure being Headmaster could be of use to your predicament, hohoho~" Dumbledore said with an amused laugh,

SNORE!* A loud snore was heard inside the Hospital Wing. It was coming from the farthest bed that was covered with a white curtain, Dumbledore and Harry looked at the person who snored with an amused glint in their eyes. Harry made a helpless smile as he looked,

"Well then, I'd better take my leave now. I'm sure you'll need a lot of rest. Have a good evening, young Harry," Dumbledore uttered while eyeing Harry with a grandfatherly smile as he turned around and took his leave.

"Good night, sir."

As Dumbledore closed the door of the Hospital Wing, someone behind him caught his attention due to her ethereal glow. If anybody other than Dumbledore could see her, then she could be mistaken for a special kind of ghost, which is the norm at Hogwarts, but it is not so because she is more than that.

"You've made quite a mess, Dumbledore." The woman spoke with a somber tone of voice.

"... Lady Hogwarts, a pleasure to see you this evening." Dumbledore greeted her respectfully with a little bow.

"I wish it were the same for me, Dumby... You can go on now, I have no interest in you right now, you can deal with your boring politics outside of my view," the woman said with an exasperated tone as he shushed Dumbledore away.

"Wha—but I thought you wanted to talk to me, my lady; after all, why would you be her— " Dumbledore said, he was confused, but before he could finish, his eyes widened in realization.

"Is it about young Harry?" He ask,

"Why would I trouble myself with that boy? I said you can go now; the owlery is full of letters from the ministry for you, shoo shoo!" The lady hushed again in irritation, and at that instant, Dumbledore fell through a hole that suddenly appeared under his foot, taking him somewhere in the castle where he should be, leaving one glowing lady in front of the entrance to the Hospital Wing with an interesting glint in her eyes.

Her eyes were boring through the door, seemingly looking through it as her gaze landed on someone. A boy with golden-blonde hair who's currently sleeping peacefully on the white bed mattress.

"Huhuhu~ Interesting~"

"Good luck... Little Moses."

That was the last thing I heard before my vision went pitch black. Then I woke up, though not in the way I would have expected. I woke up, but... the odd thing is that I was floating in space...and in front of me is something that I wouldn't dream of happening... Well, I'm certain that I'm currently dreaming right now, so maybe I was wrong, but that's not the point. The point is that right in front of my very own eyes, I am seeing the Earth ablaze with destruction, fire, explosions, and shouts... though that was supposed to be impossible because sound can't travel in space. Now I'm certain that I am in a dream.

I looked around my surroundings due to my curiosity until my gaze ended at the far top of the earth. I saw someone. I saw something. I saw... I don't know what I saw, but I know for sure that he was the one who was responsible for this chaos. He was the one responsible for...so much shouting, pain, and despair. The one responsible for all of this destruction, chaos, and death. A being 500 times bigger than me was looking down upon the destroyed Earth with a crazed look in his eyes.

A demon-like being with two grotesque horns, his body was being covered by a glowing red flesh that was moving erratically, seemingly alive. His skin was as white as an ash, and his face was being covered by a thick mask made out of bones. His long golden-blonde hair drifted across the galaxy, waving like a long floating sea.

"What the fuck is happening..." I curse unknowingly, trying to digest the information that I am seeing.

The being was holding a gigantic sword made out of pure golden light. He raised his sword and then slashed the...Earth in half. Then a big explosion happened, it was like the reenactment of the big bang was happening before my very eyes. Next thing I knew, the wave of the blast tossed me out of the space with such extreme speed that if anyone saw me, they would mistake me for a comet.

I was tossed out of the galaxy and then entered a new reality, then another reality, then another. A dozen, hundreds, thousands, and millions of realities blitzed through my vision. Then everything came to a halt. The scene before me can best be described with three words. Destruction, madness, and chaos. It's like the graveyard of planets. All of these negative terms apply, but strangely, it felt like home for me. A home that I must destroy. A home that I despise. A home that may become my prison.

[[Finally... you have come.]]

A raspy voice echoed throughout the realm. I looked at my arms and noticed that they were dyed with a red exoskeleton, and my skin is white as snow. My whole body was covered with a flesh-like lump that was moving ever so slightly, and it felt like it was clutching my skin. I looked at my chest area and noticed a noticeable symbol on it. The symbol looked familiar, but at the same time, it was not.

'Odd' I thought...but it felt right.

[[But you are too weak... my son...]] The voice said,

I looked around, trying to find its source, only to find nothing; everything was in... disorder, asymmetrical, perfectly imbalanced...as all things should be.

'No...'

Everything that was happening to me was... surreal; I felt like a puppet. I despise puppets.

I clutched my ears, hoping for the echoes of destruction and explosion to stop, only to be proved futile, it was in my head, everything was. Even if I closed my eyes, I could still see everything clearly.

[[NOO!!]]

The being shouted in fury, and then suddenly, I felt something clutching my feet. Dark, rigid arms made out of bones appeared below me, clutching my foot and then my torso. They dragged my body beneath the ground swiftly as I entered a vortex made of darkness, allowing me to enter deep inside the pitch-black void, falling and falling in an unknown period of time. Unable to do anything. All I felt was hopelessness, helplessness, and powerlessness from everything that was happening to me. It was a nightmare.
