The Fall

Later that night, when Ryan finally had returned home, he received a radio call from his liaison from Task Force 57.

"Greetings, I trust that you are well and that you were not exposed," said Blake, his liaison from the task force.

"I am extremely fine and in good health sir, but I am starting to suspect that the KGB may be on my tail. I saw several people whom I suspect to be agents monitoring me, but they do not seem to have had taken any action. I will continue to be cautious, and I will find it," said Ryan.

"You are excused, good luck," Blake said.

While he slept soundly in his warm bed amidst the cool air of his apartment, he suddenly woke up; feeling the hairs on the back of his neck stand up. He quickly donned his coat and grabbed his pistol and equipment and swung the emergency located in the back of his one-man bachelor's apartment open. He took in a deep breath of the cool air and glanced back at his apartment, taking in the place where he had lived for the past 3 years.

He took a deep breath again and sighed, he then started jogging down the stairs when a sudden boom and a shout of "KGB open! Surrender, you traitors of the people" startled him. He sprinted down the stairs, heading for the safe house he had purchased ago. As he quickly walked toward his safe house in Shinjuku, the sun peeked over the horizon as people began to fill the streets, concealing him in the crowd.

Arriving at his safe house, he quickly stashed away his gear and felt relieved as his apartment was rented using an alias, so his identity was still concealed. He was worried about the current war as he heard from the whispers on the street and the muttering of the old man at Lawson that a NATO fleet was destroyed. Jumping onto the couch, he quickly turned on his television and the screen immediately flickered to life. The television automatically switched onto channel 44 as it was the sole prefectural television channel, and it was owned by the Soviet government.

"Good morning my fellow citizens of Sukhoi, we are all immensely proud to hear that Task Force 57 has been wiped out thanks to the glorious, patriotic leader of the people, Stalin. Our eternal and great leader has brought us all equity and every man or women has the equal chance to rise through the ranks of power to serve our great leader and the people.," said the Reporter.
