KILLIAN'S POV
I almost died. I can't believe I let my guard down as much as I did. We thought ourselves the most powerful creatures in the world. We thrived and moved forward never looking back to check if we were in danger.
There was no need to check anyways. The vampires were the most powerful. Even as the werewolves attacked that day, I still kept my head held high.
'Just what exactly do they think they can do to us?' I thought to myself that day as the invasion started. Of course they attacked during the day and tore down half our fortress, the only thing shielding us from the sunlight destroyed. That of course gave them a huge advantage, but I was still confident they couldn't do anything to us.
A quarter of my people immediately burned exposed to the sun's rays. Me being the vampire lord, the most powerful vampire in existence, I am more resistant to the burn of the sun.
I walked confidently towards the alpha, plunging at him and ready to rip out his throat. To my surprise he was as strong as me, maybe even stronger. I looked at him wide eyed as he severed my head from my shoulders. Towering me with a smirk already celebrating his victory.
The victory he has now had for three years. For three years I have been healing. The few vampires who escaped managed to take my body and my head to one of our deepest hideouts. A cave only a select few vampires knew about.
They quickly stitched my head together in an attempt to keep me alive. Their efforts didn't go to waste, except the healing process has been quite slow given that animal blood is all I have as sustenance. The healing process has been so fucking slow.
My doctors tell me in six months, my head will be good as new, reattached to my shoulders, but my strength will still be gone. For me to regain the strength a vampire lord should have, I need an unreasonable amount of human blood and that will be pretty hard to get considering the werewolves have all the humans now.
This all has been a huge pain in the ass.
Animal blood helps with healing but offers no strength to vampires. My veins ache from the lack of blood flowing through them. It feels like someone is rubbing sandpaper against my veins.
The few vampires I have with me are weak as well. But hope isn't lost. The werewolves were stupid to attack us and although they have ruled successfully for over three years, I still have the advantage. Vampires don't age so we are very patient creatures.
I have all the time in the world to plan my revenge. First I need to find out how the hell the werewolf alpha was able to match my strength. I'm stronger than him no doubt, which is why the alphas before him basically begged me to let the werewolf people live in peace. We signed a treaty, an agreement showing vampires will hunt nothing but humans.
Years and years and I heeded to the rule of the treaty. My people never touched a hair on a werewolf's body. Although I was planning to battle and defeat them eventually, I was patient and still held my end of the deal.
They were stupid to go against immortals and they will pay for it with their lives. Once I'm healed and I find human blood to make me strong again I will storm down on them like never before. I will pour my wrath over their cities, I will kill their children and take their men and women as slaves.
I will do to them what they did to me and my people, only the devastation on their faces will be worse. They took my people as slaves, they destroyed my home.
Oh how sweet and evil and malicious and completely diabolical my revenge will be. They think vampires are monsters then I will show them what exactly it is a monster can do and when I am done with them, they will beg me to put them out of their misery. But there will be no escape. Their children will be my slaves, their children's children will serve me for all eternity.
Due to my immortality, my revenge will be never ending. I'm coming for you alpha Damon. I am coming for all of you.
As I smirk in compliance to my thoughts I hear the sound of heavy footsteps approach me. One of my most trusted servants bends on one knee to address me.
"Master." He says his head bowed to me.
"Speak." I say as I struggle to speak, my throat aching for just a miniscule drop of warm human blood.
"I would like to make a suggestion my Lord, concerning the blood."
"And what do you have in mind Rafal?" I hate the way my voice sounds. Frail and weak.
"An invasion. I can take some of our strongest men left. We'll go in at night to the slavery organization. We grab as many humans as we can and with our vampire speed, we'll be back here in no time." He explains.
"You all are weak Rafal. Remember the werewolves have superspeed too and you're all low on blood. They will kill you and capture you too."
"I know how it sounds but it's worth a shot. We need to get you blood. You need human blood. We may not be at full strength right now but they're still just werewolves. The alpha won't be at the slavery organization and they won't be expecting us. It'll be like taking candy from a child." He insists.
I loll my head back in contemplation at his request. It's risky, but he's right. If he's smart, they'll come out of there unscathed. It's worth a try.
"If this goes wrong, I'll lose my strongest men left." I state.
"I give you my word Master. If we leave tomorrow night, we'll be back with at least fifteen humans for you. I swear on my life."
"You have my permission then Rafal." I say and send him on his way so he can start the preparations with the other soldiers.
Fifteen humans, he said. If he's able to bring me fifteen humans I will get at least a quarter of my strength back. To a vampire that's nothing. But to werewolves, it will be their greatest nightmare.
