ALPHA IS BACK

DAMON'S POV

"I didn't expect you to be back so soon brother. This means good news then." Colton asks me as I take a seat on my chair in our meeting room.

I didn't expect to be back so soon either. I didn't attain my goal. I take out a piece of paper from my coat and place it on the table in front of Colton and Ryder.

"What's this?" Ryder picks up the note, reading it out loud.

"We have Reece. Apparently, he's important to you. If you continue looking for us, we'll kill him." Ryder lets out a frustrated sigh as he finishes reading the note.

"So that's why you're back so soon." Ryder states.

"Where did you find that?" Colton asks snatching the piece of paper from Ryder's hold as he examines it.

"Their old hideout. Where Recce's ring was found." I answer simply. I'm so tired and I don't know what to do.

"What are you going to do?" Colton asks impatiently.

"I don't know. We'll have to find another way to find them." I state.

"So that's it? We just stop looking? Why? Because of Reece? They can kill him if they want to at this point. There is more at stake if we don't find them and Reece's life isn't important right now Damon." Colton says.

"Reece can't die." I say definitively, already getting annoyed by Colton's tone.

"We don't even know if he's still alive. They might be lying for all we know." Colton says and he's right but I can't risk it.

"I guess we'll just have to believe them." I say getting out of my seat making my way towards the door. It's late and I was out all day. I just want to go to my room and stare at Morgana for a while and rest.

Before I get to the door, Colton uses his superspeed and blocks my way.

"Get out of my way Colton. I am not in my best mood right now." I command him as I take a step forwards, challenging him.

"You're making a mistake and you'll put all of us in danger because of your choices. Let Reece go. He's a dead man already."

He continues staring at me, blocking my way. I get irritated at his last statement, the thought of Reece's dead body making my nerves pop and before I know it, I'm punching my brother with all the force I can muster sending him flying across the room.

"Damon!" Ryder exclaims as he rushes towards Colton. I look at Colton distastefully as I leave the meeting room and make my way upstairs. There's a different way to handle this and I'll think of a way before it's morning. I'll even apologize to Colton for punching him, but for now, I need rest.

When I reach my chambers, my two guards open up my door bowing their heads to me.

"Welcome back Master. They say in unison as I walk into my room."

As soon as I walk in, my senses are immediately visited by the smell of fresh blood. And Colton's scent is lingering in the air. Was he in here?

I notice a frail figure laying on the floor in my room and my eyes grow wide as I immediately use my superspeed and run towards Morgana.

"Morgana?" I say impatiently as I roll her over so she's on her back. I bring my face close to her nose to make sure she's breathing. I let out a sigh of relief once I feel her breath on my face and notice she's not dead.

I panic as I lift her small body from the floor and place her on my bed. Her entire face is covered in black spots and bruises. Her blood is staining my sheets but I don't care.

I feel everything at once at the sight of her hurt body on my bed. Anger, frustration, sadness, fear.

I rush towards my door with superspeed and order my guards to fetch the head nurse. "Get the nurse. Now!" I order, my voice coming out strong filled with anger.

I swear to the gods, if Colton did this, he will pay for it dearly. I pace around the room impatiently and in a few minutes, the nurse walks in accompanied by my guards.

"What the hell took you so long?" I yell at her, my nose flaring with anger.

"I'm sorry Master." She apologizes with a bow.

"What's wrong with her?" I say pointing towards my bed. The nurse walks over to Morgana as she examines her.

She look so nonchalant as she examines Morgana. As if she feels no remorse for her. Well of course she doesn't. werewolves have learnt to see humans as nothing and that's all my fault for taking them as slaves in the first place. I shouldn't expect her to care.

"She has some fractured ribs and she received some really nasty blows to her head. But it's nothing we can't fix Master. Do you want me to take her to the nursing home?" She asks.

"No." I answer rapidly, the thought of her being far away from me in this state scaring me.

"She is to be treated here. In my room. How long will it take for her to heal?" I ask the nurse.

"Roughly two weeks master. Her body as suffered a great amount of injury and she will need a lot of time to recover." The nurse explains.

"If you would excuse me Master, I will go prepare some medicine for her." The nurse asks and I simply nod my head as she leaves the room.

Fractured ribs? Blows to the head? I'm certain it's Colton given the fact that I can basically smell him in my room. He had the nerve to come in here and hurt Morgana in my absence.

"Guards!!" I call out.

"Master." My two guards come in and bow their heads.

"Did the Beta come in here in my absence?" I ask slowly. Sweat forms on their forehead as they answer me. I can hear the sound of their hearts beating faster as I give them death stares.

"Yes master. We tried to stop him but he pushed us out of the way Master. We apologize." They explain only making me get angrier.

"Get out." I say with a deep voice controlling myself before I start beating them up instead of Colton.

I pace around the room as I try to keep calm. He beat her up. My Morgana. He is going to pay for this. I can feel my wolf threatening to come out at the sight of Morgana's frail body on my bed.

She looks terrible. I should have never left her here alone.

In a few minutes the nurse walks back in and starts attending to Morgana. She cleans her up, wiping off all the blood from her skin and dresses her up in new clothes. She applies some balm to the affected area and bandages up Morgana's head and rib cage.

Morgana stays asleep all through and I wonder just how hard Colton must have beat her up for her to stay unconscious like this. I wonder how long she was just laying down there on the cold floor. I wonder what would have happened to her if I didn't come back sooner.

She would have probably been dead by now. The thought makes me even more furious. The nurse finishes with her duties and leaves Morgana and I alone in the room.

I slowly walk towards her and take a seat beside her on my bed. I gently grab her fragile hands and cover them in my palms.

Her fingers feel so cold, void of life. It's the first time I'm holding her hands. They're so small and fragile and it makes me want to stomp into Colton's room right now and give him the beating of his life.

I don't want to leave her alone right now. I'll stay right here beside her, all night.
