8. We Meet Again

HUGO'S POV

Ever since I called that girl, I couldn't shake the feeling that I know her from somewhere. Right now, I was sitting in my chair looking for clues on those Russians, and there was literally nothing. It is as if they were not there.

I went on to watch the news, which kept talking about the owner of the restaurant and the shooting there. They also talked about the man's family and I don't know how many other things, the best thing at the moment was to focus on work, we had to catch these guys.

"Shit..." I heard Derek say, making me look up "What's up?" I asked. "I know why the last name D'angelo sounds familiar to me." I wasn't getting any of what he was talking about, so I lean back in my chair and wait for him to explain.

"Remember the girls from the airport cafe?" I nodded. "He's their father." I kept looking at him to see if it was a joke or not, but when I see he's serious, I sit up straight in my chair and stare at him. "Who did you speak with?"

I searched my mind with which of the sisters I had spoken, because at this moment I was too surprised to remember "With Alexandra I remember." I said after a few seconds "And she didn't say anything?"

I denied, because she hadn't said too much, I guess she was in shok or I don't know "I just told her what happened and then she hung up. I'm not sure she understood what I told her." I said remembering the conversation "Well I guess so because they're here again." He said looking at the screen behind me, which makes me turn to look at it myself.

On the screen, the two girls were seen hugging a lady, Alexandra had a girl in her arms and a man behind them, with a hand on her waist. I guess it was the partner of one of them, maybe Alison's father. "I think we should go to that funeral." I said

Derek focused his gaze on me and raised his eyebrow "Why?" he asked. "I have a slight suspicion they knew what was going on." Derek denied it, because I know it might seem impossible, but the question the girl asked me makes me think that there's something weird about everything, or maybe it was an excuse to see her, I didn't have the slightest idea anymore "And how they knew what went wrong here when they weren't in Italy?"

I shrugged and got up to go see what I could discover on the streets. Maybe we'd discover something new within a couple of hours of the attack. At that moment, Derek's phone starts ringing and it doesn't take him long to answer, and during the conversation, I can see his face changing to one of astonishment and not understanding anything they were telling him. When he hangs up, he stares at the wall for a couple of seconds, then turns to look at me.

"What was is it they told you to keep that face?" I asked putting on the badge "The Titano..." I tensed, because for me the war had already broken out when the Italian mafia found out what had happened in their streets with the Russians "What about him?" He denied and left his cell phone on the table, got up and began to collect his things "It is said he has been murdered." When I hear that, I keep looking at him, not expecting that news at all, which would not mean things would improve at all.

"We have to investigate that, because if it is true, there will be a war on our streets. The Italians will not rest easy now their boss has been murdered." He nodded and took the car keys "This is going to get uglier than it was." He put the phone in his pocket and we both started walking to go get the car.

"The question now is who will stay with the mafia. The man had no family." Derek said more to himself than to anyone else listening, "Leonardo, his right hand."

When we got to the car, we got in quickly, but not before checking if we had any more weapons, because if it was true that the Titano di Ferro had been killed, things would get worse than they already were.

ALEXANDRA'S POV

I wasn't in a good mood when we landed, let alone finding all those reporters at the entrance to the damn airport. Couldn't they leave us alone? My mother at this moment was not in the mood for thousands of questions they wanted to know, and both me and Megan were not in the mood to do so.

I took Alison in my arms because I noticed how scared she was, and when one of the journalists touches her, I was going to kill him, but Diego's hand on my waist prevents me from continuing on my way towards that journalist. He also had an arm around Jennifer's waist who was scared at this very moment.

By the time we got into the car, I put Alison in the seat, buckled her in, and turned to see Megan doing the same to our mom. Diego stared at her and knew what was going through her head right now, but it's not something I didn't already know. I gave our driver the address of the hotel where we would stay for a few days while we win back our house and as soon as we arrived, Diego took our suitcases out of the trunk and put them in a cart to take them to our room.

Mom and Jennifer decided to go to sleep, the first one didn't say anything or even eat anything since the previous noon, and Jennifer had eaten something on the jet and something in the suite, so I didn't bother too much to insist she has to eat more, she had a lot to think about.

Luckily for me, it was night and Alison was tired, so after she ate dinner, I put her to bed. I helped her put on her pajamas and as soon as I finished, I tucked her in and gave her a kiss on the forehead.

"Mommy, why don't we go home to Grandpa?" Alison asked and I stopped for a second not knowing what exactly to say to her "Because we can't." Alison sat up and stared at me trying to figure out what was really going on. "Did something happen to Grandpa?"

When that question came out of her mouth, I stared at her in a panic, but soon calmed down. I didn't want to scare her. "Why do you say that?" I asked, "I overheard you talking to Aunt Megan the other night. I won't see Grandpa again, right?"

And this couldn't be happening. I knew Alison was a very intelligent girl for her age, all the teachers said so, but I just didn't know how to tell her. It was difficult for me to talk about what happened to Francesco, and especially considering people he trusted killed him.

"You will see him again someday." I said "And will be a lot or a little?" I waved my hand at her with a small smile on my face and shook my head "A long, long time." I said "So Grandma won't see him either? Is that why she's so sad?"

I nodded and she ended up sitting on my lap putting her hand on my arm "Don't be sad, one day you will see grandpa too." I laughed and gave her a kiss on the temple. I still didn't understand how she did it, but I always felt better with her "I hope so. Now go to sleep, you must be tired." She nodded and gave me a kiss on the cheek "I love you, mommy." Now it was my turn to kiss her back and I tucked her in so she wouldn't catch cold "I love you too princess."

I kissed her on the forehead again and she closed her eyes, falling asleep after a few seconds. I left the room closing the door very carefully not to wake her up and I went to the living room where the other two were when I see how a letter slips under the door, I go to pick it up to see what it is.

My dearest Alexandra,

I hope things are going well for you and you're taking care of my daughter as you should, because if not, we are going to have a problem, don't think I forgot you left here with your bitch of a friend without permission, but hey, this note is not for that.

I heard your father's men murdered him. How ironic, the fearsome Titano di Ferro murdered by his right hand, over the years he became soft and in this business you pay dearly. I want to offer my condolences and offer one last time you come live with me with our daughter, and if you can just give up the idea of trying to kill me and my brother, you know it won't end well.

If you decide to come live with me, it won't be like the last time you were with us, you'll be better cared for and you won't have to set foot in that place again. Meet me at your house at midnight with our daughter, you don't need to bring anything, we'll buy everything new.

I hope you accept my dear

Dimitri

This couldn't be happening. I opened the door to see who the fuck brought the damn note, and to top it off, the bodyguard isn't at the door, so I slam it shut and head into the living room where the other two were.

"Ale, is everything alright?" asked Diego coming out of the kitchen with some food in his hand "Diego, call the guys." I said starting to look for the weapons I needed at this precise moment "What do you want them for at this hour?" he asked surprised, but right now I don't have time to explain, all I wanted to do is go after that asshole who had dared to send me a note.

"Because I need them, stop asking, I don't have all night." I checked to see if the gun was loaded and tucked it into the back of my jeans. "You're not thinking of going into that house tonight, are you?" he asked following me around "That's what I'm going to do, so I need you right now."

"And what about weapons? I know you want to break into your house more than anything in the world and take back what's yours, but I'm not going to let my guys get into something they have no idea about, much less without weapons and the necessary equipment." He said trying to stop me, but at this moment he wasn't going to succeed, I had a goal in mind at this moment "Don't worry about the weapons, because I remember Francesco had a place where he had the weapons and everything we needed, and for the if they don't have any idea about the house, you shouldn't worry, because I'll make sure it's clear to them and they know the house by heart if necessary."

Megan appeared through the living room door "Ale, Diego is right. This is too hasty." I denied, because I was going to do it no matter what they told me "I want to go home."

With those words we all turned in the direction my mother's voice was coming from to find her standing there staring at nothing, and even though I was glad she was standing there and asking to go home, at this moment I had in my head to catch that guy, I'm sure the asshole won't go alone, but I'll take on whoever it takes to catch him and finish kill him with my bare hands.

"You have to take back the house from those stupid people who dared to kill my husband." Analissa said seriously. "What are you talking about?" Megan asked in surprise. "I'm not stupid, I know what your father was up to from the start. I just want to go home." I walked over to Analissa and put my hand on her shoulder to calm her down somehow. "I'll do whatever it takes to make us home tomorrow night."

"Better you do it Ale. Don't worry about the little one, I'll stay taking care of her." I nodded and kept looking for a couple more weapons I had stored around the room "I can call someone if you don't want. I would understand. You must rest." She shook her head and gave me a small smile which made me relax a bit, at least I could see she was better than yesterday "I'll be fine, now go get our house back."

As I walked by her, I kissed her temple and nodded, because even though at this moment it wasn't my number one priority to get the house back, I was there I could take advantage of "I'll do it. I'll call someone to stay with you."

I finished putting the weapons away and started heading for the door. While Diego was driving to the place where we would meet them, I called Adriano to go to that same place, and when we arrived, everyone was already there. We got out of the car and Diego stood next to me.

"Hey man, what do you need us all for? Have you gotten into any trouble?" asked one of the boys giving him a handshake "No, it's not for me, it's for them." He said, pointing in our direction, "Oh, you never told us you knew such beautiful girls, the things I would do to them." Both Megan and I clench our fists, but it doesn't take long for Diego to grab that guy's shirt and lift him up a bit in the air.

"And if you so much as lay a finger on any of them, I'll kill you with my bare hands." He said. I could see how everyone swallowed and looked at Diego half scared apparently. I knew he had his serious, tough guy part, but I never could have imagined it until now.

"Okay, what are we good for then ladies?" asked another of Diego's colleagues. "We need loyal people to work with us. Don't worry about money because I'll give you whatever you want as long as it's a fair price. If you agree to work with us, Diego will become your boss, and if I find out one of you wants to betray us, it will not end well and you will probably end up at the bottom of the Mediterranean or frozen in some mountain."

They nodded and most of them crossed their arms, seeming offended that I said that, but I didn't care "We don't do that, miss, we are loyal to our bosses." I nodded, because for their sake it was better that they didn't "I'm glad to know, now I need to know who wants to work for us."

"We are all inside, at least it will be like a permanent job." I nodded again and turned to start getting the weapons out of the car. "When do we start work?" I turned to him with a smile on my face, but not a real one. "Tonight, we have to go somewhere."

I could see the question on everyone's face, but I didn't even bother to answer anymore, so Megan ended up doing it. "To recover our family home. The weapons are inside that warehouse. Take everything you need and I'll explain what we're going to do. I need you to get silencers too and ask you not to kill the guys in this photo. I want those alive."

While we were getting the weapons and everything we needed, I told them the plan and where I had to enter, all the hiding places there were. Luckily for me, I had the plans of the house on my mobile, which would help us locate them. When we were done and they had memorized the house, we got in the car to go to the house. I was in the car with Megan and Diego who was the one who was driving while I was in my world.

"Don't worry, everything will be fine Ale" Diego assured, but I already knew that, he didn't need to tell me "Everything better be fine." I said anyway, because at the moment I was interested in the Russians "You'll see that, they are good at their job, believe me."

He put his hand on my shoulder giving it a little squeeze "Diego, you're going with Megan." I've told them Dimitri and probably his brother were going to come to the house? No, I won't tell them. "No way. I always go with you." Megan protested, but right now I didn't care. I wanted Megan away from Dimitri, and when I got hold of him, I would let her beat him up for a while.

"This time it won't be like that, you go with Diego and that's it. Besides, you're not quite well after the shot the other day." I said starting to walk and I could hear how Diego asked her if they had done it "They gave me on the vest, and I'm fine." I stopped and turned in her direction "You're going to go with Diego, period."

Megan shook her head and before I could start walking again, she stopped me, "I'm not going to let you go alone." I frowned, because even Megan wouldn't tell me what I could do or not, that was more than clear to me "I'm with your sister, you shouldn't go alone." Diego supported her, which was to be expected. "I'm going to go alone, period."

"Ale, you have a daughter, nothing can happen to you." Megan said trying to convince me, and if it had been another time, I would have been angry for bringing Alison into the conversation, but I didn't have time for that right now "And nothing will happen to me, so stop acting like a little girl and do what I just said."

"I know you're angry and want to get your house back, but going alone isn't the best solution." I shrugged and started walking back in the direction of the house. "I don't care exactly, I'm going alone, period."

I was about to get to the edge of the property when I heard Megan say something I shouldn't "Ale, think about Alison for once..." I turn around, this time annoyed "Are you telling me I'm a bad mother for not thinking about my daughter?" I said approaching her and standing in front of her with my gun in hand "I didn't say you were a bad mother..." she tried to remedy, but there was nothing could remedy that at this moment "That was exactly what you said."

I decided it was better to go in before hitting someone I didn't want because I was more than clear why I was doing it. If what the note said was true, Dimitri would be home around midnight, it would be two birds with one stone.

We went into the house without saying anything else, and I went alone, but I know I wasn't going to be alone for long, so I went to my father's office to see if I could see any of those idiots, but in my head was going for that guy.

Every time I ran into one of the guards who were guarding the house, I kill him, without hesitation, but it didn't take long for me to run in the direction where I heard one of the guards saying the Russians were in the house, it didn't take long for the house to become hell, and I heard my name in the distance, but at this moment what mattered to me was finding Dimitri and kill him.

I go into Alison's room to look at things in the garden when I notice Dimitri is standing under the window and begins to grab the plants to get into her room, so I quickly enter, open the door window and aim at his face, which makes him stop and look at me with a smile just like the one he got on his disgusting face every time he raped me.

"You should put the gun down dear... I'm not going to do anything to you." He said with a big smile on his face "That's because I won't let you." I took the safety off the gun and put a bullet in the chamber "Come on, you're not like everyone thinks you are. I really know who you are and that you won't be able to shoot me."

"Believe me, right now I want to kill you and not with a weapon, but with my bare hands." I said bringing the gun closer to the pig face he had "You wouldn't be able... I'm the father of your daughter." As if that was going to save him, I rolled my eyes, I couldn't help it "You give me more reason to want to kill you. Now get off carefully if you don't want me to shoot you between the eyebrows."

"Do you really think my boys will let you scratch me? You're crazy if you think about it." He said with the smile fading slowly and making one appear on mine, I don't know why they always tended to underestimate us "You don't want to try."

" Wow... you've changed in these years... it's a pity your father's was as soft because of you and your sister's." He said moving his hand slowly towards his gun, as if I wasn't noticing "What the fuck are you saying?" I said, tightening my grip on the gun. "If it wasn't for you, Francesco wouldn't have gone soft. If he hadn't escaped from the club six years ago, he would be alive right now."

"We didn't do anything." I said getting angry "Of course you did, but if you feel better thinking that it is not your fault, go ahead, later you will realize that what I say is true."

That couldn't be true, my father hadn't gone soft, he was the same since I met him, at least in the mafia realm, but before I could stop to think about what this asshole had just said, I see as someone moves between the trees and points in my direction, so it doesn't take me long to shoot.

While those guys were shooting at me, Dimitri took the opportunity to get out and start to run away, but there was no way I was going to let him get away, so I started shooting at all the places I saw getting shot at until no one was shooting at me.

"Dimitri!!!!" I shot his knee causing him to fall to the ground and scream in pain. I put the gun behind me and went down to get to him who had started to crawl to try to get away, but it wasn't long before I got there and put my foot on the wound I'd just given him.

"You are a daughter of a bitch Alexandra." He said and a big smile appeared on my face "I don't give a shit what you tell me." I could see how his anger was increasing, but I didn't give a shit about it. "You'll pay me, my brother won't stay still until he's done with you."

If he really expected that to stop me, I was very wrong, what's more, I expected it to come, so I could end a large part of my nightmares. "Did you know? I will be waiting for him to come, and I assure you that he will end up like you…dead."

"We'll see about that, dear." I moved a little closer and raised my arm to knock him out "Sweet dreams, Dimitri, we won't be long before we see each other." And with that, I hit him on the forehead with the butt of the pistol knocking him out instantly. He was bleeding a lot, and I really didn't want him to die like, he deserved to suffer, so I ripped off a sleeve of his jacket and made a tourniquet to prevent him from bleeding as much as he was doing.

I was finishing doing the tourniquet when I feel a blow to the back of my head that makes me see double and hurt like hell, but despite that, I hit the guy who had jumped on top of me with all my might. Having this guy on top of me reminded me of the time when I was being raped every other day, and I couldn't help being scared and scared, but I wasn't going to let that cloud my judgment right now, I had to get out of here, go back to my daughter and get back what belonged to my family, that was my number one goal, well, that, and get revenge on the Russians.

I listened as one of Dimitri's men said to take him, lucky me, in those twelve years locked up, I learned Russian, it's a great help right now, but they were wrong if they thought I was going to let their dear boss get away. I wouldn't even allow it dead.

"You are a daughter of a bitch, but you will pay for what you just did to our boss." Said the guy with a thick Russian accent "Not even in your wildest dreams, stupid." I managed to reach the knife in my boot and plunged it into his stomach several times. I felt a liquid run through both my head and my stomach, but that was good, at least I know that guy was going to die.

"Hey!!!!" Luckily for me, Megan and Diego were about to come up to me and get this guy off me, but before those jerks could take Dimitri away, I threw the knife at the guy who was taking him away, hitting the chest squarely. It seems they would not change in life, always cocky and nothing would happen to them, and in the end, they died for not wearing the bulletproof vest. Stupid if you ask me.

I knew the moment when the guy on top of me died because suddenly, all his weight ended up on top of me, leaving me a little breathless, but Megan doesn't take long to arrive, and with Diego's help they get him off me, making the first one gives me a bear hug.

"Shit… I thought I lost you… or that guy was doing something to you… have you gone crazy or what? You have a daughter to think about... you can't allow yourself to be alone and something happens to you... you can't leave me alone..."

I hugged her at the right moment when she started to cry. It could be it was the most stupid thing to have gone around the house alone considering that everyone in this house hated us, and they didn't know the Russians were there, because if they found out, no way would they let me go alone.

"I'm fine... but if I were you, I would stay away." I told her pulling her away from me to prevent her from getting blood on her "Why?" She said looking me up and down, "I don't want you to get blood on yourself."

"That's the least of it... How did the blood get to your head?" She didn't even let me answer anymore, she made me turn my head, I must say nothing near delicately, and began to examine my head. "I kill them… I will kill them. Tell me which of these idiots did this to you." She asked loading the gun "The one that you got rid of me, but I'm fine, really. You make sure Dimitri doesn't run away."

"What?" She asked turning to me blankly. "We've got Dimitri, Megan." She began to look everywhere, until she noticed the figure was a couple of meters from me. My sister gets up, walks over slowly, and after a couple of seconds of looking at him, kicks him in the lower parts.

"Where is Stefan?" she asked raising the gun in case she was near us "He wasn't there." I said looking at her "That's impossible...these two don't break up." Megan turned to look at me to see if I was being serious. "Well, they did...we have one of the Russians."

"Something is something... as long as we don't catch Stefan, we can distract ourselves with this one." She said with a devilish smile on her face "Don't forget about Leo and his men." I remind her smile widened causing a small smile to appear on mine. "We'll take care of those too. It seems to me we have a lot of work to do, dear sister."

"Yes, but for now let's take them to the cellar, find someone to clean the house for tomorrow morning and prepare dad's burial, we can't let mom take care of that alone." The smile disappeared from her face to the sadness she had had in mind since yesterday when we found out Francesco had died "She won't be able to do it alone…" she said practically in a whisper "Let's go home. Diego, make sure the best men are guarding those stupid people, but especially this stupid Russian"

"I will personally take care of it." He said, making a couple of calls, "No, I need you to come to the suite with us." I said, because it was where I needed him right now. The guys took it upon themselves to pick up Dimitri and carry him to the cellar while Diego and Megan were with me and were going to help me up, but I got so dizzy I had to sit on the floor again.

"Come on, I'll take you. Do you drive Megan?" Diego bent down to pick me up in his arms, which despite the fact I didn't like it, at this moment I was too tired to move by myself. "Are you okay?" my sister asked concerned and approaching where we were "Yes... I just got dizzy... everything makes me spin."

"That must be from the blow you took. As soon as we get to the suite, I'll look at it for you and make sure you don't have anything." Diego said, getting up with me in his arms "You better Diego, because if anything happens to my sister, I'll kill you with my own hands." He couldn't help but seem to laugh, which makes Megan look at him angrily "Don't worry, I won't let anything happen to your sister. "

"Wouldn't it be better if you call a doctor to attend to her?" Megan asked, concern evident on her face. "It's right in front of you, so stop worrying." He said, and I'm sure if he wasn't holding me, he was pointing to himself, "I thought you were navy." She said confused for a moment.

"And I am, but I studied medicine." A smile spread across my face, because I know Megan wasn't going to like that. "I won't let you use my sister as a guinea pig." She crossed her arms in front of us to prevent us from walking "Megan, it's okay... it won't be the first time he's healed me..." I said.

"Why? What trouble did you get yourself into, Ale?" She looked at me, anger visible on her face. "In none, just that." I said tired, I didn't want to have this discussion at this precise moment "Go to sleep beautiful, I'll take care of you and I won't let Alison see you like this." I looked up, because I really would love that last one "Do you promise me?"

He nodded and with I let my eyes drift shut, because really, I was too tired. I hadn't slept for practically a week, and that right now was taking its toll on me, not to say I was too comfortable in Diego's arms, he was the only man at this moment who could make me feel safe, I know I'll be well and he won't let anything happen to me, and I thank him from the bottom of my heart.
