MEGAN'S POV
At this moment you can tell that I was happy and angry at the same time. Happy because we had one of the Russians and the people who murdered our father. Apparently, they thought we were the Russians and one of the guys was amused, so he started talking in Russian, which scared them more, it's funny from my point of view, but I was angry too. Angry because Ale had decided to go alone through the house ahead, especially if we take into account that the Russians were at home, it could have happened something, and to top it off, she had a head injury. How does she expect me to explain to her daughter that her mother has a blow to the head? I hate that she is too impulsive, she is the last person that should be, considering that she has a six-year-old daughter in charge.
-She will be fine, she went through much worse things than a blow to the head.
- What the hell was my sister referring to that you already cured her more than once?
-I was right to say that you are a foul mouthed.
-Answer me once and for all if you don't want me to hit you with that pretty face of yours.
-Thank you, I know I'm handsome and all, but you don't need to hit me. I don't know what you two have with hitting me, really.
-It will be because you deserve it, now speaks before I complies.
-Okay, okay, calm down.
-I'll be calm the moment I knows what trouble my sister got into so that you have to cure her.
-They weren't trouble, but the first time I met her was a bar. I really don't know what she was doing in there, she looked like she didn't drink, and the truth was she looked disoriented.
-It happens to herm sometimes when she doesn't sleep.
-I realized over time.
- What happened in that bar?
-In the bar nothing. I just know that as soon as I noticed her, she had a sizable cut on her arm, so I went over to her to help her, but she hit me. It was at that moment that I realized that something was wrong with her apart of the cut.
- What cut are you talking about?
-One they did on her arm.
-I didn't even notice.
-Because if I've learned anything from Ale, it's that she knows how to act and that she keeps things to herself.
-That's true, but what happened in that bar?
-They wanted to call the police, because a fight had practically started, but I convinced them that it was not necessary and I got her out of there. I don't know what was going through her head at that time, but after two years of knowing her, she told me what had happened to her, I understood why she reacted like that.
- How long did it take to tell you?
- Two and a half years.
- And what else happened to her that you had to cure her?
-Once I left the navy, I went to work as a hitman, after all, it's the only thing I know how to do well. The thing is that Ale once asked me for help with something she had to do. At first she had no idea what she wanted to do, but at the time we hit it off. Clearly, she knew what I was doing and I thought that she studied as she had told me, but I was surprised that day.
- Because?
-Because that day I realized that if she puts her mind to it, she's a killing machine, I still find it hard to believe that she knows how to do everything she does and handles the weapon better than many people I know.
- What did she need your help for?
-Because she was chasing the Russians. They didn't kill her by a miracle.
- What are you talking about?
-Didn't it seem strange to you that she didn't come home and come back several days after?
-Yes, especially because she never left Alison at all, and the day she disappeared almost gave us a heart attack, until we talked to her and she told us that she came looking for her and that she would be back in a few days. But she had also warned us that she would be out of it for a couple of days.
- She wasn't the one who took Alison. She could hardly move and she begged me to come into your house to pick her up and take her away. It's impossible to say no to her, especially since I know how much she loves Alison.
-What happened to her?
-He was shot.
-It's not the first time she's been shot, and she always wears a vest.
-And she was wearing it, but they hit her on the side, and despite the fact that it hurt her at first, when we were about to go to my apartment she collapsed, out of nowhere. Luckily I look at the side of her chest, because otherwise, we would have lost her.
- What are you talking about?
-Let's say that the blow from her bullet caused her to bleed that was flooding her lung. I had to open it with the knife there, remove the gunpowder from a bullet and make two holes so that the blood would come out of it.
- With a bullet?
-I had nothing else on hand and had to do it quickly, so I used it. After that she was in my apartment recovering. She wanted to go home, but I wasn't going to allow her to not have medical control over it, at any moment she could get worse, and I was not going to allow anything to happen to her.
-So you're telling me that because of the Russians I almost lost my sister?
-That's what I'm telling you.
-I'm going to kill her… she knows very well that she can't put herself at risk because she has Alison, and she goes and they almost kill her.
-Your sister is fine, and she will be. You can have for sure I won't let anything happen to her, or to you.
-Maybe we'll get along.
-I'm wishing it.
-Thank you for taking care of my sister all this time.
-It's nothing, I do it with pleasure. Now you should go to sleep, you have many things to do tomorrow.
- You will be here?
-I have to stay to make sure Alexandra is okay, and I promised Alison I'd stay until she woke up.
-You should rest too, you deserve it, after all.
-Believe me, I'm used to not sleeping for several days, for one night nothing will happen to me.
-Well, if you decide otherwise there is another room at the end of the corridor.
-Thanks, now go to sleep. And if you feel bad, you just have to let me know and I'll take a look at you.
-I'm fine.
-If you need it you know where to find me.
-See you tomorrow.
-See you tomorrow.
With that I went to bed leaving Diego alone. In the short time that I knew him I trusted him, I think Alexandra trusting him helped a lot, but the boy looked nice.
DIEGO'S POV
A few minutes after Megan went to her room, I went to Alexandra's room to check on her. The blow she had taken to her head was quite strong and I would have to wake her up every few hours to make sure she was okay.
-Hey, wake up.
-If you really think that I would fall asleep you are wrong.
-It would be good for you to sleep. You can be sure that nothing will happen to you, I will be here to take care of you all.
-I know, but I can't sleep.
-Because?
-I don't know, just can't do it.
At that moment we hear a scream, which makes us get up, but I quickly make her lie down again while I go to see what was happening. Apparently, it came from Jennifer's room, so I go into her, but as soon as I enter, she turns in my direction threatening me with a piece of porcelain that I suppose she took from the broken lamp.
-Jennifer… calm down… I'm not going to do anything to you.
I raised my hands as a sign of peace and started to walk in her direction, but she was getting more upset, so I stopped walking and thought of a way to reassure her, but she didn't give me time to do anything, because out of nowhere Ale appeared and turned in front of me.
-Jennifer… it's me, Ale… nothing is going to happen to you… it was just a nightmare…
-Ale, you shouldn't get close.
- You stay there and shut up.
-I want you to get away from me.
-Diego isn't going to do anything to you... he's here to help us... he won't let anyone get close to you to hurt you...
-I don't want to go back to the orphanage.
-And you won't… you'll come to live with me, and I won't let anyone do anything to you.
Ale's mother appears out of nowhere and gets to her level looking at the girl. I was surprised at the way the woman acted, it seemed that she had been in this situation before.
-Dear, Ale is right, you can stay with us. Now drop that, you must be hurting yourself and we don't want that to happen.
It is as if at that moment Jennifer realized the pain she had in her hand that releases the porcelain, and it is at that moment that Ale's mother approaches her and hugs her, making the girl start to cry almost at once. instant.
-Don't worry... everything will be fine... we won't let anything happen to you... and you won't go back to that place...
- Really?
-Ale doesn't lie about such a thing, and in case she decided to send you there again, I wouldn't allow that...
-Diego, go get the things to cure her.
She didn't have to tell me twice, I left the room to get the first aid kit, and on the way I passed Alison and Megan who went into Jennifer's room. As soon as I picked it up I headed into the bedroom again and slowly walked over to the bed.
-Jennifer, will you let me heal your hand? I promise I'm not going to do anything to you.
The girl just nodded, so I went over to the bed and began to heal the wounds she had given herself. Once finished, I leave the room to leave the kit in the living room and return to find Ale, Alison, Megan and Jennifer all asleep, the latter hugging the girls' mother. I sat in the armchair that was there and I stared at them, they really made a beautiful family, I would really love to have a family like theirs.
- What happened to Ale's head?
-They beat her while we were trying to get her house.
- And did you get it?
-Yes ma'am, tomorrow you can be in the house.
-I'm glad to hear that. Will she be OK?
Yes, don't worry about her.
-I think it's the first time in a long time that I see them sleep so peacefully.
-I also. Can I ask you a question if you don't mind?
-Make it.
- How did you know Jennifer wouldn't do anything to you?
-Because Ale did the same when she brought her home. I'm assuming you know what's happened to both of them.
-I only know Ale's part and what she told me.
-That's strange, she doesn't talk to anyone about it, including her psychologists.
-She doesn't trust people so fast.
-But apparently with you she has done it. What is it about you that my daughter trusts you so much?
-She knows I won't do anything to her, that's all.
-I hope that's the case. Now can you do me a favour?
-Whatever you want.
-Take care of them. I know what they're into, or at least something that's not legal, and I don't want them to end up like my husband.
- So you knew everything they were involved in?
-They hide it very well, but I know they must be involved in the same thing as their father.
-Not quite.
-I really don't want to know what they're up to, just promise me you'll take care of them.
-I will ma'am, don't worry. Rest now, tomorrow will be a long day.
-You should rest too.
-I'll be fine, don't worry about me.
-As you like
With that, in a few minutes her mother fell asleep and it didn't take much longer for me to fall asleep, but waking up every so often to make sure Alexandra was okay.
